Stamp n Hop - Set of 3 Nesting Gift Boxes

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am hopping with the Stamp n Hop group and the theme was '3D project', you may be joining me from Vickie's post.  I have made some gift boxes which can be dressed up really fancy with lots of bows and sparkle or dressed down a bit for those who don't link frills and flounces.  I've made these to use for gifts for male relatives this Christmas, not sure what I'm putting in them yet but I'm sure I will find something to fit. They measure 2", 3" and 4" square. Let me show you how I made them.

Materials

Small - 1 piece of card stock 4" square and 1 piece 4 1/16" square, 1 piece of dsp 1 3/4" square

Medium - 1 piece of card stock 5" square and 1 piece 5 1/16" square, 1 piece of dsp 2 3/4" square

Large - 1 piece of card stock 7" square and 1 piece 7 1/16" square, 1 piece of dsp 3 3/4" square

(I've used Mossy Meadow and Heartwarming Hugs)

Scraps of whisper white, mossy meadow and gold foil card stock for the decoration
Mossy meadow ink
Gift Wrapped stamp set
Gift Bow Builder Punch
1 1/2" circle punch
Multipurpose adhesive
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone Folder
Paper snips

Instructions

All three boxes are made in the same way.

For the small and medium boxes, score at 1" on all four sides on both base and lid.

For the large one, score at 1 1/2" on all four sides of base and lid.

Fold and burnish all the score lines.

Cut up the vertical score lines to the horizontal line on all sides of the base and lid to make the tabs and then notch either edge of the tab.

Add glue to the outside of each tab and then bring the folded edge to the cut edge and secure in place all the way around the box and the lid.

Add the dsp to the centre of the top of the lid and add the lid to the box.  They should all fit snugly.

Cut some 1/4" strips of gold foil, 2 x 3 3/4", 2 x 2 3/4"and 2 x 1 3/4" and lay them on top of the dsp in a cross shape so that they look like ribbon (see picture).

Stamp three different sized bows on to the scraps of mossy meadow, punch the large one out with the punch and fussy cut the other two. Add the bows to the cross portion of the gold foil with dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment 3 times on the scrap of whisper white and punch out with the circle punch and then adhere to the top of the box.

These boxes will nest inside each other until you are ready to use them so are great for craft fairs as it cuts down on storage space.  You can also fill them, stack them one on top of another and put ribbon around the three.

I hope that you like them and will give them a try.

Make sure that you hop on over to the next project and see what my crafty colleagues have made.
