Stampin Dreams Blog Hop - Chocolate Orange Milk Carton

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am hopping with the Stampin' Dreams group and the theme is 'Christmas'.  I like to gift chocolate treats in cute bags and boxes and I found this cute milk carton by The Paper Pixie which I have changed up a little bit but the basic measurements are hers.  Let me show you how I made it:

Materials

1 piece of real red card stock 10 1/2" x 6 1/2"
1 1/4" strip of garden green to wrap around the opening (approx 7")
4 pieces of designer series paper 2 3/8" x 1 7/8" and 2 pieces 2 3/8" x 1 3/8" (Heartwarming Hugs)
Scraps of real red and whisper white for the bows and sentiment
Gift Wrapped stamp set
Paper snips
Real red ink
Multipurpose adhesive
Mini glue dots
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone folder
Tear tape
Rectangular Postage Stamp punch
Ruler

Instructions

On the long side, score the real red card stock at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2" and 10", then score on the short side at 2 1/2" and 4 1/2", then flip over and score at 6".

Put back on the scoreboard on the long side and score at 3 3/4" and 8 3/4" just to the 1st score line.

Now, with a ruler, score from the mark you just made to either side of the bottom of that panel - see template. Fold and burnish all of the score lines.

Remove the bottom skinny rectangle and notch the top tiny square - this forms the tab.

Cut up the other score lines along the bottom up to the 1st horizontal score line.  Notch the two as shown in the template.

Adhere the dsp to the four centre panels and the two top ones without the diagonal score lines.

Add adhesive or tear tape to the inside of the tab and fold over to join the two sides together.

Fold in the two smaller bottom flaps and then adhere the back flap over these and then bring the front flap down and adhere that in place.

Pinch the top together and the milk carton should close up. I have added a couple of glue dots in between the front and back to keep secure.  Then wrap the thin strip around the top and fix together at the back with glue dots to form a sort of belly band around the opening.

On the scrap of whisper white punch out a rectangle and then stamp the sentiment and decoration using real red ink and then adhere to the carton front with glue.

Stamp a bow on the scrap of real red and then fussy cut with the paper snips and add to the top of the carton with glue dots.

There you are a quick and simple milk carton treat box that you can fill with your favourite treats, I've added a whole chocolate orange to mine, it just fits really nicely.
