Heartwarming Hugs and Sweetest Time Chocolate Treat Box - Share it on a Sunday

 Hi Everyone,

It's Share it on a Sunday and this week the theme was 'Masculine Treat Box'. I've made a Christmas one for my husband, filled with all of his favourite chocolate bars.  I was inspired by Sam Calcott of Mixed Up Crafts who made a box like this recently on her YouTube channel, check her out, she makes some amazing projects and all very easy to follow. Let me show you how I put this together and don't forget to click on the links below to see what Donna and Victoria have made this week.

Materials

1 piece of garden green card stock 8 1/4" x 11", 1 piece 8 1/4" x 9 1/2", 1 piece 7 1/4" x 8 1/2"

2 pieces of dsp 5 1/2" x 7 3/4" (Heartwarming Hugs)

Instructions

On the long side, score the largest piece of garden green card at 1/2", 1 1/2" and 10", then rotate and on the short side score at 1" and 7 1/4".

On the 8 1/4" x 9 1/2" piece of card, score at 1" and 7 1/4" on the long side and 1" on the short side.

On the smallest piece, score at 1" on the short side - this is the lid.

Fold and burnish the score lines and cut tabs as shown in the picture.

To cut out the aperture, measure in 1" from the fold lines on all four sides and draw lines, connecting all the marks.  Cut out this central rectangle using a craft knife and a metal ruler.

Connect this piece and the back of the box together with the long side tab.  Add red line tape around all four sides of the acetate, remove the backing and fix to the inside of the aperture.

Now fix the box together down the other long edge using your adhesive of choice, I have used wet glue to give me a little wiggle room.

Glue the bottom tabs of the box together to seal the opening which is opposite to the side with two score lines which is the side that will close the box.

Adhere the dsp mats to the foil mats and then adhere one to either side of the lid piece.

Add glue to the 1" tab and fix that to the back of the box so that you will have a lid which opens up and shows the contents of the box.

Die cut the foil and whisper white labels to make the sentiment pieces.

Stamp sentiments using garden green on the whisper white label and add real red decorations. Adhere the one for the inside to the foil mat with glue and then glue on the inside of the box.  Fix the one for the outside together using dimensionals and add to the centre of the box front.

Fill with chocolate and close up the end, I have secured mine with a couple of glue dots to keep it closed and stop the chocolate falling out.

I do hope that you like this and will give it a try. Don't forget to check out Donna and Victoria's pages, links below.
