All About The Males - Stamp 'n' Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am hopping with the Stamp 'n' Hop group and it's 'All about the males' so welcome.

Now I find it hard to make masculine cards, I'm sure that I am not alone in that. But, lots of the background designs in Stampin' Up! papers are ideal. I've made a birthday card with Cute Halloween (I don't do Halloween, it's not really a thing where I live) and the other with Heartwarming Hugs which is a Christmas design. There are lots more you could choose from but as the Mini Catalogue has just gone live, I wanted to use papers from there.

Materials

1 piece of coloured card stock for the base 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" ( I have used real red and basic black)
1 piece of coloured card stock 4" x 5 3/4" (I have used old olive and pumpkin pie)
1 piece of dsp 5 5/8" x 3 1/2", 1 piece 5 5/8" x 2" (I have used Cute Halloween and Heartwarming Hugs)
1 piece of basic white 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" and scrap for the sentiment
Scraps of coloured card for the sentiment mat
Everyday Label Punch
Black twine
Matt black dots
Happiest of Birthdays stamp set
Pumpkin pie ink
Old olive ink
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder

Instructions

On the long side score the card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Adhere the larger piece of dsp to the piece of coloured card stock leaving 1/4" top and bottom and then add the smaller piece across the centre of that.  Wrap the twine around twice, crossing it over and secure of the back with some tape. Add to the card front using dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of basic white and then punch out with the Everyday label punch, punch another out in the contrasting colour and cut in half up the middle.  Adhere one end to each of the sides of the white label to make a border.  Fix to the crossover point in the twine using dimensionals.

Stamp a sentiment on the remaining piece of basic white and adhere to the inside of the card.

Add some matt black dots to the sentiment and/or card front.

I hope that you agree this is an easy card to make and change up in lots of different ways with colours and different designer papers.
