Shaded Summer - Pretty Flowers - Baby Wipe Technique Card

 Hi Everyone,

Today I'm trying the Baby Wipe Technique for the first time after being inspired by my team mate Janice from Jazzle Dazzle Crafts. I needed to make some technique cards for a swap that I am taking part in so thought I would give this technique a try. I really like how it turned out so will definitely try it again, maybe be a bit braver next time and do larger images. Let me show you what I did.

Materials

1 piece of thick basic white card 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
1 piece of old olive card 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
Scraps of basic white for stamping
Layering Circle dies
Stitched So Sweetly dies
Shaded Summer stamp set
Selection of reinkers
Old olive ink pad
Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine
Baby wipes
Tray
6" of floral art ribbon
Multipurpose adhesive
Pretty Flowers embossing folder
Trimmer
Bone folder
Dimensionals

Instructions

On the long side score the thick white card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Use a try or the inside of an old stamp case or similar to lay your baby wipes, I used two, one on top of the other.  I then added drops of reinker randomly all over the baby wipes, I just used lots of different colours, I don't have every colour. I had no idea how it would turn out, I just went for it as they say. The drops will merge together and it will look messy but it's fine (see picture).

Then use this as your ink pad and stamp your image on the scrap white card. Each image will be slightly different depending on where on the baby wipes you put your stamp. I was making 8 cards, so stamped the image about 10 times in total. I knew that I wanted to die cut my images so I left plenty of space around each image.

Die cut the images with the layered circle dies and die cut the second smallest rectangle die for the sentiments. Stamp the sentiment in the centre of each one, I've used old olive ink to match the embossed card.

Run the old olive card through the machine in the Pretty Flowers embossing folder.

Wrap the ribbon around the embossed card and secure on the back with sticky tape. Adhere to the front of the card base.

Add the die cut circle with dimensionals, towards the top and in the centre. Add the sentiment with dimensionals over the top of the ribbon which will keep it secured on the front of the card.

I'm really pleased with my first attempt, I hope that you like it too.
