Poinsettia Heartwarming Hugs Gift Set - Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

I love a One Sheet Wonder and have made lots in the past so that I could stretch out my supplies but I have usually just made a set of cards. This time, I thought I would try something different so I have made a gift box and a gift tag with a matching card and I have used Christmas colours and dsp. It would look equally great with any colours and dsp, it's also quite a quick make too. I've made these boxes in the past for craft fairs and teacher gifts, you can easily get a production line going.  Let me show you how I made it all.

This is my cutting plan for the sheet of 6" x 6" designer series paper.

Materials

1 piece of real red card stock 11 5/8" x 6 1/2", 1 piece 11 5/8" x 1"
1 piece of dsp 6" x 6" cut as the plan above (I've used Heartwarming Hugs)
1 piece of thick basic white card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", 1 piece 2 1/2" x 5"
Speciality paper for the flower and leaf die cuts (velvet, vellum, card, foil - whatever you like)
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Poinsettia Dies
Poinsettia Petals stamp set
Penguin Place stamp set
Real Red ink
Detailed Trio Punch
Simply Elegant trim
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Paper Snips
Dimensionals
Rhinestones

Instructions

Gift Box

On the long side, score the real red card at  1 7/8", 3 3/4", 5 5/8", 7 1/2", 9 3/8" and 11 1/4".
On the short side, score at 2 1/2" and 4".

Cut up each of the score lines across each of the long edges to the first horizontal score line, this will create the flaps for the top and bottom, leaving the centre section for the sides of the box.  Remove the two skinny rectangles at the end and tab the centre section (see picture), corner round the ends of all of the flaps, top and bottom.

Add the dsp to the sections across the centre.

Add adhesive to the outside of the tab and fold the other side over to meet it to make the box.

Stand it on one end and starting at the tab, fold over the flaps, adding a little adhesive to the top of each and then folding the opposite side over it, repeat until all of the sections are glued.

Flip the box over and put something in the box to keep it in shape (I have used a roll of ribbon).

Fold the top flaps over but don't glue them.

Sit the box in the centre of the 1" strip of card and bring the ends up and around the box, pinching together as you fold it around so that it sits flat against the sides, bottom and top of the box. Add some glue where it overlaps on the top to keep it together, it will slide on and off the box.

Die cut the pieces for the poinsettia and add leaves too if you want them. Adhere the layers together and curl the petal edges to give it some shape, I've also added dimensionals between the layers. Add to the belly band so that it sits in the centre of the top of the box with dimensionals, tuck any leaves in around it and add a couple of rhinestones.

Card

On the long side score the thick white card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Cut a mat of silver foil card 3 1/3" x 4 1/2" and adhere the dsp to this leaving a small border all around. Add this to the card front.

Die cut a flower to add to the card front, make up in the same way as the box above and fix to the card front as shown. Add some rhinestones.

Stamp the sentiment in real red on the card front as shown.  Add a stamped flower image on the inside of the card with another sentiment.

Gift Tag

Fold the 2/12" x 5" piece of thick white card in  half and fold and burnish to make a small card. Adhere the remaining 2 1/4" piece of dsp to the tag front.

Die cut a small poinsettia to add to the tag with some sprigs cut out in silver foil. Add a rhinestone to the centre.

Stamp the sentiment on the inside of the mini card. Punch a hole in the top corner and thread through some of the silver twine to attach it to your gift box.

I do hope that you like my little gift set and will give it a try. You can fill the box with sweets, chocolates etc and it will make a fabulous little gift for friends, teachers, co-workers and craft fairs.
