Hi Everyone,
This week for Share it on a Sunday, we are making gift boxes. I wanted to make one that would hold a lipstick or a lip balm, great for stocking fillers, little treats and gifts, craft fairs and the like. I had a look through my saved projects on YouTube and came across a cute one made by Linda Parker from several years ago, so I have CASEd her design, but used product from both the Annual and Mini Catalogues. Let me show you how to make it.
Materials
1 piece of card stock 8" x 3", 1 piece 5 7/8" x 3 7/8" (real red and mint macaron)
2 pieces of dsp 3 1/8" x 2 5/8", 3 pieces 5/8" x 2 5/8" (Peaceful Place, Hand-Penned)
Double Oval Punch
Penguin Place stamp set
Hand Penned Petals stamp set
Starlit Punch
Real Red Mini Ruffled Ribbon
White Glittered Organdy Ribbon
Scrap of silver foil and basic white card
Tear and Tape
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Paper Snips
Hole Punch
Real Red ink
Mint Macaron ink
Instructions
On the long side of the largest piece of card, score at 3 1/2" and 4 1/2". On the smaller piece, score at 5/8", 1 1/2", 4 3/8", 5 1/4" on the long side and 7/8", 1 3/4", 2 5/8", 3 1/2" on the short side.
Fold and burnish all the score lines and then cut the smaller piece as shown in the picture.
It is easier to add the dsp before you put the box together, so add the three small strips to the 3 sections with tabs on either end, so looking at the picture above, the 3 up from the bottom as you are looking at it.
Add tear and tape to the skinny tab at the top as you look at the picture above on the outside, then remove the backing and fold over and bring the other end of the box over to meet it and seal the box. Fold in the tabs at either end and the box is complete.
Add tear and Tape to the centre section of the other piece of card on the inside. Add the dsp layers to the two sections either side of that but on the outside. Make sure your pattern is the right way up. Remove the backing on the tape and stick the box to this section securing it on the inside of the holder.
Punch two holes for the ribbon by holding the two sections together and matching it at the top, punch about 1" down and 1" in from the side on both sides.
Thread the ribbon through both sides and tie in a bow on the front.
Stamp a sentiment on the scrap white card and punch out with the scalloped oval punch and add to the front using dimensionals.
Punch out some silver stars and adhere them to the bag and the sentiment label.
You could make a lot of these really quickly and they don't take up much card or dsp. I hope that you like them and will give them a try.
