Hi Everyone,
Today I am hopping with the Stampin' Dreams group and the theme is 'Back to School', so I have CASEd my Upline Pootles and made a Desk Tidy for my grandaughter Charlotte, using the cute Penguin Playmates dsp which is FREE during Saleabration and the lovely Fresh Freesia card stock.
Materials
Tray
1 piece of card stock 8 1/8" x 8 5/8", score at 1/2" and 1 3/4" on all four sides
2 pieces of dsp 1" x 4 7/8", 2 pieces 1" x 4 3/8"
Small box with spots
1 piece of card stock 10 1/2" x 5 1/2", score at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2" and 10" on long side, 2 1/2" and 5" on the short side
4 pieces of dsp 2 1/4" square
Medium box with stars
1 piece of card stock 10 1/2" x 7", score at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2" and 10" on the long side, 2 1/2" and 6 1/2" on the short side
4 pieces of dsp 2 1/4" x 3 3/4"
Tall striped box
1 piece of card stock 8 1/4" x 8", score at 2", 4", 6" and 8" on the long side, 2" and 7 1/2" on the short
4 pieces of dsp 1 3/4" x 5 1/4"
Medium box with spots
1 piece of card stock 8 1/4" x 5 1/4", score at 2", 4", 6", 8" on the long side, 2" and 5" on the short side
4 pieces of dsp 1 3/4" x 2 3/4"
Tiny box with stars
1 piece of card stock 6 1/2" x 3 1/4", score at 1", 3", 4" and 6" on the long side, 1" and 2 3/4" on the short side
2 pieces of dsp 3/4" x 1 1/2", 2 pieces 1 3/4" x 1 1/2"
Multipurpose adhesive
Tear n Tape/Red Line tape
Scraps of dsp to fussy cut the animals
Paper snips
Instructions
All of the boxes are made in the same way and cut in the same way except for the tray which is slightly different. Fold and burnish all of the score lines on all your pieces and then cut them as in the pictures below and add the corresponding dsp pieces.
The tray is slightly different
When you have made all the boxes, fit them into the tray and decorate them. I have added the creatures around the outsides of the whole thing to make it look like they are peeking, or playing
Then fill it with pens, pencils, crayons etc. Mine is sitting on my table waiting for my grandaughter to visit and then she can take it away and put it on her new desk in her newly decorated bedroom, I'm sure she will love it.
You could use any combination of colours and papers to decorate your own to match your room, you could parcel them up to sell at craft fairs, gift them to work colleagues or use as teacher gifts.
