True Love Best Dressed Clutch Bag Card - Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Todays card is for a Blog Hop with the Stampin' Dreams Group and the theme was 'Mothers'. Now as here in the UK, Mother's Day has been and gone, I thought I would just make a special card that could be used for any occasion for that important lady in your life.  It's an adaptation of a card I first saw on Mixed Up Crafts with Sam Calcott but I have changed the measurements slightly to use A4 and mine is a clutch bag rather than a handbag.

Materials

1 piece of basic black card stock 5" x 11 3/4" (full length of A4), 1 piece 2 1/2" x 5"
4 pieces of designer series paper 4 3/4" square, 1 piece 4 3/4" x 1 13/16 (just under 1 7/8")
Scraps of basic black, basic white and gold foil
Gold embossing powder
Versamark
Heat Tool
Dressed to Impress stamp set
All Dressed Up dies
Quite Curvy stamp set
Stitched rectangle dies
Stitched square dies
Detailed Trio punch
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder
Velcro dot
Glue dots
Multipurpose adhesive

Instructions

On the long side, score the black card at 5", 5 7/8" and 6 3/4", and score the small piece of black for the flap at 1/2" and fold and burnish.

Round the two corners opposite the fold on the flap piece with the detailed trio punch and then adhere the flap to the back of the card on the outside using glue or tear and tape on the 1/2" section.

Adhere the four pieces of dsp to the inside and outside of the card, I have used the True Love dsp as I love the black and white.  Corner round the bottom edges on the dsp piece for the flap and adhere in place.

Using Versamark stamp two perfume bottles, one lipstick and the two sentiments, one is from Dressed to Impress and other from Quite Curvy on the scraps of basic black.  Sprinkle with gold embossing powder and then set with the Heat Tool.

Die cut the perfume bottles, lipstick and the sentiment from Dressed to Impress with the dies from the All Dressed Up set.  Die cut the longer sentiment with a stitched rectangle and die cut a 3" square with the stitched squares in basic white.  I've also used the shaped pocket die from the All Dressed Up to die cut a gold foil piece to work as the fastener on the front of the bag.

Using glue dots, adhere the perfume bottles and the lipstick to the front of the fold on the inside to look like the items are inside the handbag.  Adhere the sentiment to the top section in the centre of the inside and the white square for writing your message to the bottom section.

Add the gold foil piece to the bottom centre of the flap and add a velcro dot underneath it to keep the card closed.  Add the other sentiment towards the bottom of the card front and your card is complete.

I hope that you like it and will give it a try.  Please pop through the rest of the hop to see what my talented friends have created.
