Retiring In Colour Scrappy Technique Card - Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

Today’s card is one that I have made for the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop and the theme is the 2019-2021 Retiring In Colours.  I've used the scrappy technique because I don't have much of anything left in these colours now.  Let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of seaside spray card stock 5 7/8” x 8 1/4”, scrap for the sentiment mat
Scraps of pretty peacock, seaside spray, terracotta tile and rococo rose card stock
2 pieces of basic white card stock 3 7/8” x 5 5/8” and a scrap large enough for the sentiment
Pretty Peacock ink
Scrap of Purple Posy Linen Ribbon
So Sentimental stamp set
Stitches So Sweetly dies
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Trimmer
Simply scored
Tear and tape
Bone folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Paper snips

Instructions

On the long side score the seaside spray card stock at 4 1/8” and fold and burnish to make a card base.

Cut some strips of coloured card stock (I don't have any purple posy) in strips of different widths and on an angle - you can see what I mean from the picture.

Lay the pieces in alternate colours across the basic white card with no gaps and glue in place. Alternate wider pieces and narrower pieces at either end, see finished card.  Trim off the excess with the paper snips all around the edges.

Add the scrappy layer to the card front with adhesive.

Add the remaining white piece on the inside of the card, stamp a sentiment if required.

Stamp the large sentiment on a scrap of basic white and then die cut and die cut the matting layer from seaside spray, layer then together with adhesive.

Add the scrap of ribbon across the centre of the card using tear and tape and adhere the sentiment over the top using dimensionals.

I hope that you like my card and will give it a try.
