Pierced Blooms Birthday Card in Seaside Spray - Stampin' Birds Showcase Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am hopping with Team Mates from Stampin' Birds and we are showcasing whatever we are working on at the moment. Well, I received my pre-order delivery from Stampin' Up! last week and in it was the lovely In Bloom stamp set and the Pierced Bloom dies. This set has been on my list for a while but I was hanging on to see if it would be carried over into the new Annual Catalogue and it is, so I bought it. I love the stitched detail on the flowers and leaves and the bow is gorgeous.  I've also been playing with the retiring In Colours so thought that I would combine the two and make a birthday card.  Let me show you what I did:

Materials

1 piece of seaside spray card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
1 piece of night of navy card stock 3 7/8" x 5 5/8
1 piece of basic white card stock 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" and 1 piece 3 5/8" x 5 3/8"
Scraps of seaside spray, basic white and pear pizzazz for die cutting
In Bloom stamp set
Night of navy ink
Pierced Bloom dies
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Basic rhinestones
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder

Instructions

On the long side, score the seaside spray card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Adhere the night of navy layer to the card front.

Stamp a sentiment on the smaller piece of basic white and adhere to the card front.

As you can see from the picture, I have been using up lots of scraps and die cut lots of flowers in all sorts of colours just to have a play about with them.  I decided to pick out the seaside spray ones and mixed them with basic white to make some pretty flowers, I just glued different combinations together, none of them look like flowers from my garden but that doesn't matter.

I arranged some of the larger flowers in a cluster in the bottom left of the white layer, some glued flat, some on dimensionals and tucked in some leaves around them.  I added some of the tiny flowers and then added rhinestones to the centre of each flower.  I added the bow in the top right hand corner with a larger rhinestone in the centre of that.

Adhere the remaining white layer to the inside of the card to write your message.

A quick and simple scrap busting idea, I hope that you like it.
