Under My Umbrella Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Those of you who follow me will know that I regularly show you projects that are challenges.  Sometimes it's colours, sometimes a particular product and sometimes it's a sketch.  I do lots of challenges with two of my crafty friends - Taffycrafting (Donna Lester) and Vickieloudesigns (Victoria Littlewood) and we have a regular weekly one called Share it on a Sunday. Well, now Donna has challenged us to do some sketch challenges over the next few weeks to keep our creative mojo going and I'm going to use them as a chance to show you new products as well as some old favourites that I haven't used for a while.  So, here goes with my Challenge 8, I hope that you like it.

(Sketch from cardztv.blogspot.com)

Materials

1 piece of Night of Navy card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
1 piece of Pacific Point dsp 4" x 5 5/8"
1 piece of Daffodil Delight dsp 2" x 4"
Scraps of Mint Macaron dsp for the umbrella and the wellies and 1 piece 1" x 4"
2 1/2" circle of whisper white
Layering circles dies
Umbrella Punch
Under My Umbrella stamp set
Pacific point ink
Trimmer
Multipurpose adhesive
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Dimensionals
Paper snips

Instructions

Score the night of navy card stock at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Adhere the pacific point dsp to the card front.

The sketch calls for 4 x 1" squares to go along the bottom but I didn't like that so changed it to a 1" x 4" strip and stamped 4 sets of flowers along it instead. I've stamped in pacific point ink on the mint macaron dsp and then adhered that to the bottom edge of the pacific point dsp.

Stamp raindrops in pacific point ink on the daffodil delight dsp and then adhere to the card front directly above the mint macaron layer.

Die cut a 2 1/22 circle in whisper white, stamp a sentiment and some raindrops on it and adhere to the card front..

Punch out an umbrella in the mint macaron dsp and and stamp a set of wellingtons and fussy cut them out. Adhere the umbrella handle in place and then add the umbrella using dimensionals so it overhangs the top of the circle.  Add the wellingtons at the bottom of the circle.

I've used this sketch to fulfill a colour challenge as well so combined two challenges in one.  Why don't you have a go too?

Using sketches is a great way to restart your mojo and give you ideas.  You could make this layout in any number of different combinations, why don't you give it a try.
