This week's theme is 'Floral Fun Fold' so I have made a Swing Fold Card using the lovely Ornate Garden dsp and the Daisy Lane stamp set and punch. At the end of this blog post there will be links to Donna and Victoria's projects so don't forget to pop over there and see what they made too.
Materials
1 piece of old olive card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" for the card base
1/2 sheet of A4 whisper white card stock for the squares and the daisy
1 piece of dsp 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
Daisy Lane stamp set
Daisy Punch
Medium Daisy Punch
Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
Bumblebee ink
Old Olive ink
Layering square dies (1 x approx 3" and 1 approx 2 1/2")
Die cutting machine
Trimmer
Multipurpose adhesive
Instructions
On the long side, score the old olive card at 4 1/8", then fold the front back on itself so you fold it in half as though you were making a Z fold card.
Position the larger square die centrally on the card front so that the fold line is in the middle of the square (see picture) and die cut just the half nearest to the edge of the card front (see picture).
Die cut a whisper white square that is the same size as the one you used to cut the card front (this one will be for the greeting inside) and the next smallest one too which will be for the daisies on the front.
Stamp 2 large daisies and 2 small daisies using bumblebee ink and punch them out. Layer the 2 large ones together offsetting the petals and then lay the 2 small ones on top to make a really full looking flower.
Stamp a sentiment on the larger whisper white square. This square needs to go on the inside of the card directly underneath the front swing section. The easiest way that I have found to do this is to add a little piece of low tack tape to the middle and place it face down on the back of the swing square (see picture). Add adhesive to the back and then carefully close the card and press down. Peel the front away carefully and remove the tape from the front of the sentiment. The sentiment square should now be perfectly in line with the front swing square and invisible when the card is closed.
Adhere the smaller whisper white square to the centre of the square on the front and add the daisy to the centre.
Stamp a sentiment on a 1/2" x 3" strip of whisper white and then punch both ends with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and add to the front of the card with dimensionals (only at one end and in the middle).
There you go, a pretty swing fold card, I hope that you like it. Don't forget to pop over and see what Donna and Victoria have made, links below:
