In Good Taste Sketch Challenge Card

Hi Everyone,

Those of you who follow me will know that I regularly show you projects that are challenges.  Sometimes it's colours, sometimes a particular product and sometimes it's a sketch.  I do lots of challenges with two of my crafty friends - Taffycrafting (Donna Lester) and Vickieloudesigns (Victoria Littlewood) and we have a regular weekly one called Share it on a Sunday. Well, now Donna has challenged us to do some sketch challenges over the next few weeks to keep our creative mojo going and I'm going to use them as a chance to show you new products as well as some old favourites that I haven't used for a while.  So, here goes with my Challenge 3, I hope that you like it.

(Sketch by cardztv.blogspot.com)

Materials

1 piece of Early Espresso card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" and 1 piece 2 1/2" x 3 1/4"
1 piece of Crumb Cake card stock 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
1 piece of Very Vanilla card stock 3 5/8" x 5 5/8" for the inside and 1 piece 2 1/4" x 3"
2 pieces of In Good Taste dsp 1 1/2" x 3 7/8" and 1 piece 1 7/8" x 3 7/8"
1 piece of contrasting In Good Taste dsp 1" x 5 5/8"
1 piece of gold foil 3/4" x 4 1/4" and 1 piece 1" x 4 3/4"
Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
Tasteful Touches stamp set
Early Espresso ink
Crumb Cake ink
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder

Instructions

Score the early espresso piece at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make a card base.

Adhere the crumb cake mat to the card front leaving a small border all around.

Arrange the darker dsp layers horizontally across this mat, the larger one goes in the middle, leave an equal gap between them. Arrange the longer contrasting strip vertically to the left hand side as in the picture.

Punch one end of both of the gold foil strips using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and then arrange them as shown.

I've used the stamp with the square pattern to decorate the very vanilla piece for the inside of the card and also stamped off on the sentiment layer just to give a bit of interest. Then I have stamped a sentiment in early espresso over the top.

Adhere the very vanilla layer on the inside of the card and add the sentiment layer to the early espresso mat, then add this to the card front using dimensionals.

I hope that you like this layout and will give it a try, you don't have to use this dsp, you can use any and you will achieve lots of different looks.
