Tea Boutique Mini Exploding Bag - Stampin' Birds 3D Thursday

Hi Everyone,

It's another 3D Thursday and this time I have made a Mini Exploding Bag which will hold a couple of sweet treats and would be great as wedding or party favours, just change the dsp for whatever the occasion. I've combines the Tea Boutique dsp with the Sweet Sorbet card stock and the Basic Border dies to make my cute little bag. Let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of 6 x 6 designer series paper
1 piece of matching card stock 2" x 2", 1 piece 1/4" x 3"
Basic Border dies
Stampin Cut and Emboss Machine
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Trimmer
Basic rhinestones
Multipurpose adhesive
Mini Glue dot/velcro fastener
Pencil
Ruler

Instructions

Score at 2" on all four sides of the designer series paper.  The rest of the scores are diagonal ones so you will need a ruler and your scoring tool, follow the template below. On the middle side squares you need to mark the half way point between the two score lines and make your diagonal scored meeting at the marked point as shown on the template.

Trim off the pieces that are scribbled out on the template and then fold and burnish all the score lines. Fold and burnish the diagonal ones both ways so that they will fold up easier.  If you hold the paper with the straight middle piece facing you and push on the side pieces, they should all fold in to form the bag shape.

Score the 2" square piece of card along one side at 7/8" and 1 1/8" and fold and burnish. Then using one of the border dies, position the point so it is at the half way point along one edge and run through the die cutting machine to give you the fancy edge for the bag front.

Then adhere the side without the shaping to the outside back of the bag.  To close the bag add either a mini glue dot or a velcro dot if you want the bag to be opened more than once.

Score at 1/4" from either end of the strip of card and then curl the piece in between these two marks with the bone folder to curve it. Adhere the two side pieces on to the top of the bag as shown.

Add some rhinestones to look like the rivets on the handles and a slightly larger one on the front to look like the clasp.

I do hope that you like my cute little bag.  Please pop over and see what Donna and Victoria have made too:
