Get Well Card and Cute Gift Pouch

 Hi Everyone,

As many of you may know, I've been struggling with my mojo for a while so I thought I would try a sketch challenge and combine it with a little gift pouch that Sam Hammond Donald showed us how to make at our recent craft retreat in Birmingham. I have a friend who is not feeling well so I've made her a get well card and a little treat pouch.

Materials

1 piece of starry sky card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", 1 piece 6" x 7"
1 piece of basic white 3 7/8" x 5 5/8", 1 piece 1 1/2" x 4 1/4", 1 piece 2" square to die cut circle, scrap for the tag
1 piece of dsp 3 7/8" x 5 5/8", 1 piece 3 1/2" x 5", 1 piece 1 1/2" x 3 7/8", 2 pieces 3 1/4" x 2 3/4"
Scrap of ribbon
Lovely You stamp set
Starry Sky ink
Daffodil Delight ink
Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Stylish Shapes dies
Tailor Made Tags dies
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Mini glue dots

Instructions

This is the sketch that I followed, I have changed the measurements slightly to use up some of the scraps of white card on my desk.

On the long side score the larger piece of starry sky at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Adhere the first three layers of dsp on the card front.

Stamp a design on the 1 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of white using the blue and yellow and small flowers from the Lovely You stamp set.  On the 2" square piece, stamp the sentiment and some flowers and then die cut with the 1 1/2" circle die.  Add both of these pieces to the card front using dimensionals.

Stamp a sentiment and some flowers on the remaining large piece of white for the inside of card and adhere in place.

Treat Pouch

Score the starry sky piece on the long side at 3 1/2" and then turn and score on the short side at 3".

Fold and burnish the score lines and then cut as shown, either on the trimmer or with paper snips, whichever you prefer.

Flip it over and secure the ribbon across the centre of the top section as shown and add the dsp over the top to keep it in place.

Flip back to the other side and add a mini glue dot in the centre of each section and add the tea bag and biscuit as shown.

Fold the triangles up and close the pouch and tie the ribbon in a knot.

Die cut a small tag and stamp a sentiment on it, attach to the ribbon and then tie a bow as shown.

Thanks to Sam for the Treat Pouch instructions and I hope that you like my card and gift.

Tea Boutique Sketch Card - Stampin' Birds Showcase Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today its the Stampin' Birds Showcase Hop where we each show something we have been working on. I love sketch challenges for getting ideas for layouts so I tried one today and used the Tea Boutique dsp and the Artistically Inked stamp set for a really quick and easy card.

The sketch I have used is from US Demonstrator Terri Gaines and I have tweaked the measurements to allow for UK A4 card stock

Materials

1 piece of sweet sorbet card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", 1 piece 3/4" x 5 7/8", scrap for the sentiment
1 piece of basic white 3 7/8" x 5 5/8", scrap for the sentiment
1 piece of dsp 4" x 3 3/4", 1 piece 4" x 3 1/4"
Sweet Sorbet Bakers Twine
Sweet Sorbet ink
Artistically Inked stamp set
Double Oval Punch
Trimmer
Bone Folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

On the long side score the card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Adhere the dsp as shown in the sketch.

Add the strip of card and then wrap the twine around it and tie in a knot.

Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of white and punch out and then layer up on the larger scalloped oval and add to the card front with dimensionals.

Stamp a sentiment on the remaining piece of white and add to the inside of the card.

I've added some decorative dots t the centre of the flowers and the sentiment.
