Today I am hopping with the lovely InspoireINK group and we are making bags and tags so I have made a Christmas one using the very cute penguin and the Heartwarming Hugs designer series paper.
Materials
1 piece of card stock 6" z 11 3/4" (I've used pear pizzazz)
1 piece of designer series paper 3 1/2" x 11 1/2" (Heartwarming Hugs)
Scraps of pear pizzazz, basic white, basic black
Real red ruffled ribbon
Detailed Trio punch
Tag Topper punch
Penguin Builder Punch
Penguin Place stamp set
Real red ink
Memento black ink
Early espresso ink
Pumpkin pie ink
Daffodil Delight ink
Misty moonlight ink
Multipurpose adhesive
Tear and tape
Dimensionals
Ruler
Scoreboard
Bone folder
Bone folder
Mini glue dots
Bakers twine
Instructions
On the long side, score the card stock at 1 3/4", 5 1/2", 7 1/4" and 11". Then make a mark at 7/8" and 6 3/8". Turn on the short side and score at 1 3/4".
In the panels where you have made a notch, join the notch to the two bottom corners of that panel with a diagonal score line to make a triangle within the panel.
Cut up the vertical score lines to the horizontal one and remove the skinny rectangle at the end and notch the bottom of the tab above it, this is the tab to join the bag together. Fold and burnish all the score lines, including the diagonal ones.
Turn the card over and add tear and tape to the edge of the end panel which has the diagonal score lines and then fold this over to meet the tab and secure bag together at the sides. Turn the bag upside down and bring in the two side tabs, fold the back tab in and then add tear and tape to the underside of the front tab and secure the bottom of the bag.
Stand it the right way up and pinch the sides together and the bag is complete.

Lay the dsp against the front of the bag with a 1" overlap which will fold under the bottom of the bag, pinch this fold together gently (don't burnish with the bone folder, do it with your fingers so as not to rip the dsp). Lay the dsp against the bag again with the fold underneath and now fold over the top of the bag and pinch again and fold. Then pinch and fold at the other side at the bottom so that the pieces join to make the sleeve. Add a strip of tear and tape to one of the bottom pieces and join together, make sure that the sleeve slides on and off the box easily.
I made a tag for the front of the bag using a 4" x 2" strip of white card, punched one end with the tag topper punch. Stamp stars randomly all over this piece. Punch out the pieces to make a penguin, stamp the features on the white piece and layer the two together. Glue to the tag and stamp the antlers in early espresso on the top of its head. Glue the tag to the sleeve on the front of the bag and add a bow with a mini glue dot or dimensional. Stamp a sentiment ad add to the front of the tag.
You can also make these tags to use separately, I cut a piece of pear pizzazz and basic white and made them into tags and rounded off the bottom ends. I stamped all over the green top layer but this time in misty moonlight. I made the penguin in the same way and added it to the tag, stamped a sentiment and cut that out and added to the tag. The white layer id to write your message. Tie some ribbon through the two layers and secure with some bakers twine.
