Mystery Stamping Happiest of Birthdays

 Hi Everyone,

Today's card is one that I made following a Mystery Stamping video by Sharon Armstrong (TX Stampin' Sharon). She gives you a list of supplies and then you can craft along following the 'clues' that she gives you. No two cards turn  out the same and there are always different interpretations of the instructions too.  Check her out on YouTube, she does lots of these videos and they are great fun, you have no idea what you are making until it is done.  let me show you how I made my interpretation.

Materials

1  piece of whisper white 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", 1 piece 1" x 5 1/2", 1 piece 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" and 1 piece 1 3/4" x 3 1/4" (this was my addition)
1 piece of dsp 1 3/4" x 5 1/4" and 1 piece 3/4" x 5 1/4" (I used Flowers for Every Season)
1 piece of co-ordinating dsp 5 1/4" x 4" (this was my addition)
1 piece of card stock that co-ordinates with your dsp 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (I used misty moonlight)
Happiest of Birthdays stamp set
Lovely You stamp set
Misty moonlight ink
Trimmer
Simply scored
Multipurpose adhesive

Instructions

Score the whisper white on the long side at 4 1/4", fold and burnish to make the card base. It's a landscape card and the fold goes at the top.

Adhere the dsp layer to the fold over at the top leaving a border all around the edge.

Adhere the dsp strip to the whisper white strip, this is the piece for the bottom and will be attached to the card later.

Adhere the contrasting dsp to the inside of the card leaving a border all around.

Stamp a sentiment on the larger of the two whisper white rectangles that you have left, I've added a few flowers around the edges too.  Adhere this layer to the misty moonlight layer.

This piece will be the bridge between the top and the bottom of the card and can either go horizontally or vertically depending on the stamped sentiment.  I chose horizontal for mine.  Add a line of adhesive to both long sides of the misty moonlight layer, line up the whisper white strip so that it is flush with the bottom of the card and then fix the 'bridge' to top and bottom.  It can be in the centre or to one side, it is up to you.

I have adhered the remaining rectangle on the inside of the card so that it is hidden by the 'bridge' section on the front and it is somewhere to write your message.

i hope you like my interpretation of Sharon's instructions, check her out, she makes some amazing projects.

Gilded Autumn Birthday Card

Hi Everyone,

Those of you who follow me will know that I regularly show you projects that are challenges.  Sometimes it's colours, sometimes a particular product and sometimes it's a sketch.  I do lots of challenges with two of my crafty friends - Taffycrafting (Donna Lester) and Vickieloudesigns (Victoria Littlewood) and we have a regular weekly one called Share it on a Sunday. Well, now Donna has challenged us to do some sketch challenges over the next few weeks to keep our creative mojo going and I'm going to use them as a chance to show you new products as well as some old favourites that I haven't used for a while.  So, here goes with my Challenge 23 of #33, I hope that you like it.

Materials

1 piece of early espresso card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
1 piece of very vanilla card stock 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" and 1 piece 2 1/4" x 3"
1 piece of dsp 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" and the card front and 1 contrasting piece 2 1/2" square cut on the diagonal to make two triangles
1 piece of copper foil 2 1/2" x 3 1/4"
Monogram Messages stamp set
Early espresso ink
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

Score the early espresso card at 4 1/8" on the long side and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Add the larger very vanilla piece to the inside to write your message and decorate if required, I've added a sentiment in early espresso ink.

Adhere the large dsp layer to the card front leaving a small border all around the edge. Cut the smaller piece on the diagonal and add to the top left and bottom right of the card front leaving a border as shown in the picture.

Stamp the sentiment on the other piece of very vanilla using the early espresso ink and then add this layer to the copper foil layer and add to the card front using dimensionals.

Why don't you give the sketch a try, you can use whatever you want and it will be a unique card.

Share it on a Sunday - Decorated Poinsettia Gift Tag

 Hi Everyone,

It's Share it on a Sunday and this week it was  my turn to choose the theme and I chose 'Decorated Gift Tag'.  I've made several different versions on a theme to show you that you can have a basic design and change it up in lots of different ways, the possibilities are endless, have a go and see how many different ones that you can come up with.  Don't forget to checkout what Donna and Victoria have made too, the links to their projects are at the bottom of this Blog Post.

Materials

Poinsettia dies
Poinsettia Petals stamp set
Delightful Tag Topper Punch
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Selection of foil card stock
Whisper white card stock
Garden green card stock
Vellum
Selection of ribbon
Selection of embossing powders
Versamark ink
Heat tool
Classic label punch
Trimmer
Bone folder
Embellishments for the centre of the flowers
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Mini Dimensionals
Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set
Real red ink

Instructions

Each tag is 4 1/2" long so you need to cut a whisper white layer to write your message and a
layer to add your flower to.  On some I have a vellum layer as well, it just depends what look you are going for.

Punch the top of all of the layers with the delightful tag topper punch.

Some of the flowers I have die cut and embossed directly from foil card, this is so simple to do, the embossed layer fits just inside the cut out and you run them through your die cutting machine together and you get beautiful, realistic looking petals and leaves. I think the holly leaves look amazing in the copper foil version.

Some I have stamped in real red ink and then die cut.

Some I have heat embossed on card stock in silver and gold.  Just stamp with Versamark and then sprinkle with your chosen powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

Some I have heat embossed on vellum, I tried white embossing powder and on the copper one I tried some holographic embossing powder from my stash.

So choose what effect you want and make a set of flower petals, a couple of holly leaves and a couple of berry twigs for each tag.

Adhere the sets of flower petals together, offsetting the petals on each layer, then add two holly leaves and two sprigs of berries to the back. On these three, I have adhered them to the foil layer with dimensionals and then stamped the sentiment on a scrap of whisper white in real red ink and punched out with the Classic Label punch.

On this one I have stamped the sentiment on the whisper white tag and there is no foil tag, this one is only two layers.

On this one there are three layers and I have stamped on the whisper white one.

On this one I have used the holographic powder on vellum with a dimensional between each layer of petals and the leaves and berries are in copper foil. On this one I have adhered the vellum layer to the copper foil layer and added a whisper white one for the message. I haven't stamped on this one because I don't have any copper ink or powder but I think this one is my favourite.

Add a piece of ribbon to the tag and there you are, a pretty Christmas Poinsettia Gift Tag, I wonder how many you will make, I would love to see your versions.
