Abstract Beauty Lovely You - Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am taking part in the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop for the first time and the theme is a sketch challenge with a touch of glimmer and shine. You may have landed on my Blog from the lovely Donna Lester and if so, welcome.   These sketch challenges are great for getting your crafty mojo going and also using up scraps of designer series papers. The sketch we are following is in the banner above. I've combined the beautiful new Abstract Beauty (which has lovely gold foiling) with an old stamp set - Lovely You - and the Basic Border Dies and my favourite new embellishment, the Brass Butterflies, let me show you how I made this card.

Materials

1 piece of night of navy card stock 4 1/8" x 11 1/2", scrap for the sentiment label
1 piece of basic white card stock 3 7/8" x 5 5/8", 1 piece 3 1/4" square and a scrap for the sentiment
1 piece of dsp 3" square, 1 strip 2 1/2" x 4 1/8"
Night of navy ink
Polished pink ink
Just jade ink
Lovely You stamp set
Basic Border dies
Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder
Tailored Tag Punch
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Brass Butterflies

Instructions

On the long side score the night of navy card at 5 3/4" and fold and burnish to make a tent fold card.

Choose the basic border die that you like and run it through the machine with the die running through the centre of the 2 1/2" strip to cut it in half.

Adhere one strip to the bottom of the card front and the other to the bottom of the larger piece of basic white for the inside of the card and adhere it in place.

Adhere the white square to the card front towards the top and leaving equal borders around the top and sides, then add the dsp square at an angle inside it.

Stamp a sentiment on the scrap of basic white and add some flowers and leaves around it and then punch out with the Tailored Tag Punch. Punch out another using the night of navy scrap and then cut that in half through the centre longways. Add half to the top of the stamped sentiment piece and half to the bottom to make it look like a layer behind (see picture).  Add to the card front using dimensionals. Sprinkle some brass butterflies on the card front and it's finished. I hope that you like it.
