Pretty Perennials Diamond Pop Up Card - Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am hopping with the Ink Stamp Share Group and the theme is 'Fun Fold Card', my absolute favourite.  I have a whole series of them here on my blog that I did over the last year, there are lots to inspire you so have a look. Today I am making a Diamond Pop Up card using the fabulous Pretty Perennial Bundle, let me show you how I made it.  There is a YouTube link below to a previous version of this where you can see how I put the actual card together, I have just used different colours, embossing folders and stamp sets and dies for this one.

Bumblebee ink

Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Scissors
Ruler
Pencil

Multipurpose adhesive

Instructions

On the 12" side of the pacific point card stock score at 3", flip the card over and score at 6", fold and burnish the score lines.

With the ruler make a mark on the 6" score line at the half way point (3"), then make a mark at 3" on the other three sides of this square.  With a ruler,  score between the top of the 3" fold and the middle of the bottom edge of the square, the line will go through the mark you made on the 6" scoreline.  Score from the bottom of the 3" fold to the middle point on the top edge of the square again going through the mark on the 6" fold. Then score from the top middle to the side middle and the bottom middle to the side middle to complete the diamond shape (see templete).

Remove the two diagonal sections as shown in the template and then burnish the diagonal score lines. Turn the card to face you and push in the sides so that the card folds and you end up with a diamond on the top, burnish these folds well.

Add adhesive to the underside of the first triangle and then fold that down so that it adheres to the bottom of the card (see the picture), this is the pop up mechanism.

Add the basic white layer to the back of the diamond so that you can write your message.

Stamp a design on the remaining basic white layer using all of the colours, start with the largest image first and then the smaller ones and finish off by tucking leaves in around the flowers and adding some tiny flowers to fill some of the white space.

Emboss the two triangles that you removed from the card earlier when making the diamond shape. Adhere these two triangles to the front, base of the card on either side of where the diamond shape attaches to the card (see picture).

Adhere the stamped square to the diamond on the front of the card leaving a small border all around the edges.

Die cut an assortment of flowers and leaves from the scraps of coloured card, I have also stamped two flowers and then die cut them, but its up to you.  Die cut the postage stamp from the snail dies in basic white to use for the sentiment mat.

Stamp the word 'happy' on a scrap of white and fussy cut around the image.  I've also stamped the word 'birthday' and cut around that too.  Arrange the words on the postage stamp die cut with dimensionals and adhere to the centre of the diamond in a diamond shape.

Arrange flowers and leaves around the sentiment and on the two embossed pieces at the front. Add some rhinestones to the centre of the die cut flowers.

There you are a very pretty pop up card and it's really easy to make.
