Oh So Ombre Starburst Birthday Card

 Hi Everyone,

Today I have made a starburst card using the Oh So Ombre FREE designer series paper and the Stitched Stars dies with a sentiment from Art Gallery and the Happiest of Birthdays. Let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of bermuda bay card stock 6" x full length of A4 (11 3/4")
2 pieces of basic white card stock 5 3/4" square and a scrap for the sentiment
Several sheets of bermuda bay Oh So Ombre dsp cut into strips 1 1/2" wide
Silver foil card stock
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Stitched Stars dies
Art Gallery Stamp set
Floral Gallery dies
Happiest of Birthdays stamp set
Bermuda bay ink
Trimmer
Simply scored
Paper snips
Bone folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Pencil and ruler

Instructions

Score the bermuda bay card stock on the long side at 5 7/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

On the piece of basic white I have a drawn two intersecting  lines 2" from the right and two inches up from the bottom, I wanted my starburst to radiate out from the bottom right of the card, but you can draw the lines anywhere you like and depending on where you draw your lines, depends on the length of the rays.

I started by cutting my strips of dsp at 1 1/2" by the full 6", then cut them on the diagonal from top left to bottom right of the strip. This will give you one triangle which is lighter at the widest point and one darker so you can alternate them.

On the small sections you can trim your strips to 3" - 4" working on my design.

Start with one of the longer pieces and lay it along the drawn line with the point to the intersection and glue down. Place the next one with a slight gap between the two and work your way around the top half of the card.  You will need to alter the length of the strips in the smaller sections but it depends on where you have drawn your lines.  Keep going, laying them down with a small gap between them until you have gone the whole way round.

Turn the card over and trim the excess from the back.

Die cut 4 stars of different sizes and add dimensionals to the back and arrange on the card front with the largest one covering where all the rays meet.

Stamp a sentiment  on a scrap of white and die cut with the label die from the Floral Gallery dies. Attach the sentiment to the largest star with dimensionals.

Stamp on the remaining piece of basic white and adhere to the inside of the card.

I hope that you like my card and will give it a try.
