Whale of a Time with Tasteful Touches Card

Hi Everyone,

Those of you who follow me will know that I regularly show you projects that are challenges.  Sometimes it's colours, sometimes a particular product and sometimes it's a sketch.  I do lots of challenges with two of my crafty friends - Taffycrafting (Donna Lester) and Vickieloudesigns (Victoria Littlewood) and we have a regular weekly one called Share it on a Sunday. Well, now Donna has challenged us to do some sketch challenges over the next few weeks to keep our creative mojo going and I'm going to use them as a chance to show you new products as well as some old favourites that I haven't used for a while.  So, here goes with my Challenge 13 of #33, I hope that you like it.

(sketch from cardztv.blogspot.com)

Materials

1 piece of Pretty Peacock card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" and 1 piece 2 1/8" x 2 5/8"
1 piece of dsp 3 7/8" x 5 5/5", 1 piece 1 1/2" x 3 7/8" and 1 piece 1 1/4" x 3 7/8" (all contrasting, I've used Whale of a Time)
1 piece of whisper white card stock 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" and 1 piece 2" x 2 1/2"
Pretty Peacock ink
Tasteful Touches stamp set
Whale of a Time sequins
Multipurpose adhesive
Mini glue dots
Dimensionals
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder

Instructions

Score the pretty peacock card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Add the large dsp layer to the card front leaving a small border all the way around.

Layer up the two smaller pieces of dsp and add to the card front just below the centre.

Stamp on the whisper white layer for the inside and adhere in place.

Stamp on the whisper white sentiment layer, I have used the leaf bunch because I thought it looked a bit like seaweed. I've stamped off twice to make for a paler version of the pretty peacock ink and then stamped the sentiment at full strength over the top.

The sketch adds the embellishments where I have used dsp and I think this dsp is too busy there so I've added a few sequins to the {seaweed) on the sentiment layer for a bit of sparkle.

Why don't you give the sketch a try, you can use whatever you want and it will be a unique card.
