Magic in This Night Easel Card

Hi Everyone,

Today I am taking part in Kylie's Monthly International Blog Highlights and the theme is 'Thank You'. I have made a striking easel card using the fabulous new Magic in This Night designer series paper and teamed it with Magenta Madness, Basic Black and Silver Foil. I hope that you like it and will pop over to the Gallery and give me a vote so that I can take part in the Blog Hop with Kylie at the end of the month. Let me show you how I made it:

Materials

1 piece of thick whisper white card 5 3/4" x 11 1/2"
2 pieces of silver foil card 5 3/4" square
2 pieces of magenta madness card 5 1/2" square
1 piece of Magic in This Night dsp 5 1/4" square
Scraps of magenta madness, basic black and silver foil for the flower, leaves and sentiment
Stitched rectangle dies
Well written dies
Magnolia memory dies
Die cutting machine
Multipurpose adhesive
Fine tip glue pen
Dimensionals
Silicone craft sheet
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder

Instructions

Score the whisper white card on the long side at 5 3/4" and 2 7/8" and fold and burnish to make the base for your easel card.

Adhere one piece of silver foil to the inside base so that it completely covers the base, then add one of the magenta madness pieces centrally onto it leaving a small border all the way around.

The front of the card base forms a triangle on top of the base and this is where the other piece of silver foil is fixed.  Add glue to the front side of the triangle only and then line up the other silver foil piece so that it is perfectly lined up and when the card is folded flat, it completely covers the whole of the front of the card. Then add the other magenta madness piece centrally to that layer and add the dsp layer to the top of that, again leaving a small border all around.

Using the two flower dies from the Magnolia Memory dies cut two of each side from the magenta madness card, both sizes of the stamens from basic black and two of each of the leaves making four in total.

Using the Well Written dies, cut the 'thanks' die out in magenta madness, basic black and silver foil.

Using the Stitched Rectangle dies cut a magenta madness one that fits the 'thanks' die and one in the next size up in silver foil.

Using a bone folder, shape the flower petals to give them some dimension and then layer them up, offsetting the petals on each layer. Use a spot of adhesive to adhere each layer, two large, two small and then the two stamen flower centres.  Add dimensionals to the back and fix to the bottom left of the card front.

Using a silicone craft sheet (if you have one) add glue to the back of the leaves with the fine tip glue pen being careful to not get any on the silver foil side.  Arrange the leaves around the flower on the card front.

Using the fine tip glue pen again add glue to the back of the three different 'thanks' die cuts and add the silver foil and the magenta madness ones to the card front and the basic black one to the magenta rectangle.

Add the magenta layer to the silver foil rectangle and add dimensionals to the back.  Add this to the card base roughly in the centre so that the easel piece will lodge behind it to stand up

There you go, a really pretty easel thank you card, I hope that you like it and will give it a try.
Please don't forget to click on the link above and give me a vote, I really would like to take part in the Blog Hop with Kylie at the end of the month.

Happy crafting,

Karen XXX
