New Horizons Simple Cards - Stampin' Birds Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

I'm hopping with my lovely Stampin' Birds team mates today and we are showcasing projects that we have been working on. I've been playing with the fabulous New Horizons designer series paper which speaks for itself and needs very little else. A brilliant set of papers for the new crafter with little experience, you can make beautiful cards very easily. Let me show you how.

Materials

1 piece of coloured card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" or 4 1/8" x 11 1/2" (bookbinder card)
1 piece of basic white card 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" or 3 7/8" x 4 5/8" (bookbinder card)
1 piece of dsp 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
Ink to coordinate (blackberry bliss, misty moonlight, evening evergreen)
Quiet Meadow stamp set
Happiest of Birthdays stamp set
Prized Peony stamp set
Wildflower Path stamp set
Multipurpose adhesive
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder

Instructions

For the three top folding cards, score the coloured card on the long side at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Stamp a sentiment on the designer series paper in a colour to match the card base and then adhere this layer to the card front.  Add the remaining piece of basic white to the inside and the card is complete.

For the bookbinder card, on the long side score the coloured card at 5 3/4" and 6 3/4" and fold the card in half along the 5 3/4" score line.  Then fold the other score line back on itself. This 1" section forms the book fold and needs to be adhered to the inside of the card so you have a 1" piece at the fold which is adhered together and then the shorter piece opens up like a book.

To decorate the front of this card you need to cut down the 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" piece to fit so you will have 1 piece that is 7/8" wide and 1 piece 4 5/8". Adhere the smaller piece to the spine and the other to the card front and finish off as with the others with a piece of white card on the inside.

You can also stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card too if you like, I have with the two sympathy/thinking of you cards but not with the birthday cards.
