Poinsettia Petals Dutch Barn Fun Fold - World Card Making Day

 Hi Everyone,

It's World Card Making Day today and I am taking part in an event which has contributors from all over the world. It's a whole 24 hours of fun and crafting and I am so happy to be taking part. This is just one of the many events which will be going on worldwide so plenty of inspiration to be had this weekend.  I decided to make a Christmas Fun Fold card because, as you know, fun folds are my favourite, I hope that you like it.  All the instructions are below and there is also a video tutorial over on my YouTube channel, link below.

Instructions

Put the long side of the largest piece of real red card to the top of the score board and score at 7", then put the two small pieces in with the 3" to the top and score at 1/2" on each piece, fold and burnish the score lines.

Add glue to the 1/2" tabs on the small pieces and adhere them to the bottom of the card base at the sides to form two doors. Line them up so that they are flush with the bottom of the card and the sides.

Adhere the large silver foil mat to the inside of the card so that it covers the tabs from the side doors. Adhere the silver foil mats to the two doors and the roof leaving a border all around.  Then adhere the dsp layers.

Die cut all three layers of the poinsettia in white/red velvet or red foil if you prefer and a selection of leaves and sprigs.  Die cut the largest of the scalloped rectangles and the two smallest from the Stitched So Sweetly dies for the labels in red/olive and white.

Stamp the large sentiment across the large scalloped mat and then adhere to the inside of the card.  Stamp the small sentiments for the front on the two small rectangles in real red ink.  Layer up the small rectangle pieces for the front of the card and glue one to either door, remember to only add glue to one half of it and position them on on top of the other as in the picture.

Layer up the three sets of petals and curl the ends of the petals to give them some dimension.  Add to the card roof on dimensionals and then tuck in the leaves and sprigs around them.

I do hope that you like my cards and that you have enjoyed what has been on offer for World Card Making Day 2021.
