Pirate Give it a Whirl Birthday Card - Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today it's a Kids/Babies theme for the Stampin' Dreams blog hop and I've chosen to combine the very cute Pirates and mermaids stamp set with the Give it a Whirl dies to make a fun interactive card for a child's birthday. Let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of night of navy card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
2 pieces of basic white 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
1 piece of pacific point dsp from the Brights DSP stack 4" x 5 1/2"
Memento Black ink
Real Red Stampin' Blends
Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends
Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends
Petal Pink Stampin' Blends
Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends
Pirates and Mermaids stamp set
Give it a Whirl dies
1 small brad for the wheel mechanism
Stitched So Sweetly dies
Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone Folder
Dimensionals

Instructions

On the long side score the navy card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make a card base.

Die cut the card front piece from the pacific point dsp and then cut the sentiment opening from it wherever you want it to be on the card front, make sure you line up the hole in the dsp with the hole in the die.  Die cut the wheel from white card and the stitched rectangle from the remaining bit of that piece.

Lay the dsp card front over the top of the wheel lining up the space for the sentiments to appear and then stamp the sentiments, keep moving the wheel under the dsp piece to get three sentiments of images in the window spaces.

Stamp the pirate on the rectangle and colour him in with the blends.  Stamp the treasure chest and another sentiment on the remaining piece of basic white and colour that in too, then adhere on the inside of the card.

Add the brad through the dsp and the wheel and open out the back of it but don't press it down too tightly, it needs to be able to do round.

Add dimensionals to the back of the dsp piece making sure they don't interfere with the wheel going round and add this to the card front as centrally as possible.

Add the stamped pirate image to the card front on dimensionals so that it hides the brad.

I do hope that you like my cute card. Please pop over and see what everyone else has made today, you are sure to be inspired.
