Scrappy Colour Challenge - Crafty Collaborations

Hi Everyone,

Today’s card is one that I have made for the Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop and is a colour challenge.  I've used the scrappy technique and the inspiration for that came from a challenge in another group, so I have combined the two. Let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of misty moonlight card stock 5 7/8” x 8 1/4”
Scraps of night of navy and balmy blue card stock
2 pieces of basic white card stock 3 7/8” x 5 5/8” and a scrap large enough for the sentiment
Misty moonlight ink
Happiest of birthdays stamp set
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Paper snips

Instructions

On the long side score the misty moonlight card stock at 4 1/8” and fold and burnish to make a card base.

Cut some strips of balmy blue and night of navy card stock in strips of different widths and on an angle - you can see what I mean from the picture.

Lay the pieces in alternate colours across the basic white card with no gaps and glue in place. Alternate wider pieces and narrower pieces at either end, see finished card.  Trim off the excess with the paper snips all around the edges.

Add the scrappy layer to the card front with dimensionals.

Add the remaining white piece on the inside of the card, stamp a sentiment in misty moonlight ink if required.

Stamp the large sentiment on a scrap of basic white and then cut around it using angles see picture. I thought that this gave a really unusual finish which suited this card perfectly.

I hope that you like my card and will give it a try.
