One Sheet Wonder, Butterflies and Flowers - Stampin' Birds Showcase Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am hopping with my Team Mates in Stampin' Birds and I have been playing with the 2020-2022 In Colours and the Butterfly Brilliance and Vine Designs stamp sets. I do like a butterfly and the ones in this set are particularly beautiful but I didn't want to stamp them as the whole thing or mess about masking them up every time - I have cut mine apart to get more use out of them. For me, it was the right decision but I am certainly not advocating that it is the way to go for anyone else. I know that I can't now go back to Stampin' Up with any problems I may encounter with this set but I don't foresee any problems from my point of you, entirely my decision.  So now I have a set of 6 butterflies to stamp with and I decided to make a one sheet wonder and then cut it up into cards. I wanted a set of birthday cards to give to my Aunt for her to send to her friends. Let me tell you how I did it.

Materials

1 piece of card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" in bumblebee, magenta madness, just jade and misty moonlight
1 full piece of basic white card stock A4
4 pieces of basic white card 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" for the inside of the cards
Scraps of white and all four colours for the circles for the sentiment layers
Butterfly Brilliance stamp set
Vine Designs stamp set
Bumblebee ink
Magenta madness ink
Misty moonlight ink
Just jade ink
Bumblebee ribbon
Magenta madness ribbon
Just jade ribbon
Silver edged ribbon
2 1/4" circle punch
2" circle punch
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Mini glue dots
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder

Instructions

I started with one of the larger butterflies and randomly stamped in magenta madness all over the sheet of white.

Then I stamped the largest butterfly in bumblebee.

Then the two smaller ones in just jade and misty moonlight.

Keep turning the stamp to change the direction of the butterfly.

Then I filled in the white space with the smaller flowers from the Vine Designs stamp set in all of the colours until I was happy with the design.

I then cut the full sheet into 4 pieces 3 7/8" x 5 5/8".

Score the coloured card on the long side at 4 1/8" and then fold and burnish to make 4 landscape card bases.  Adhere one of the stamped pieces to the front of each card.

Punch out a 2 1/4" circle in each of the four colours and then 4 white ones with the 2" punch.

Stamp the sentiment towards the bottom of the circles in the colours and then adhere them to the corresponding larger circles.

Make a small bow with the coloured ribbon (I don't have any just jade ribbon so used the silver edges white in stead) and add above the sentiment with a glue dot.

Adhere the remaining white layers on the inside of the cards.

Now I am posting these cards to my Aunt so will just put them in a cellophane pack, if I was going to be able to see her, I would make a pretty box for them too.

I hope that you like my cards and will give them a try.  Please now hop over and see what the rest of the Team who are taking part have made.
