Playing With Patterns Birthday Card

 Hi Everyone,

Today I have been playing with some of the designer series papers that will be retiring very soon with the arrival of the new Annual Catalogue in May. I have loved using the Playing With Patterns papers they are bright and colourful and great as background papers and layers. I have used several punches for the decoration on this card which makes it a very quick and simple card to make, let me show you what I did.

Materials

1 piece of thick basic white card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
1 piece of dsp 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
Scraps of co-ordinating papers and silver foil to punch out circles and flowers
6" piece of scalloped linen ribbon in purple posy
2 1/4" circle punch
Sprig punch
Small Bloom punch
Pastel pearls
Highland Heather ink
Art Gallery stamp set
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

On the long side score the thick white card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make a card base.

Arrange the ribbon across the lower section of the largest piece of dsp and fix on the reverse with some sticky tape.

Adhere the large piece of dsp the the card front leaving an equal border all around the edges.

Choose three co-ordinating papers and punch out a 2 1/4" circle from each of them. Add dimensionals to the back and arrange them on the card front, overlapping each other and the ribbon.

Punch out three flowers from a co-ordinating paper and shape in the palm of your hand. Fix these to the card front overlapping the circles and the ribbon.

Punch out two sprigs in silver foil and tuck them under the flowers.

Add pastel pearls to the centre of the flowers.

Stamp the sentiment directly onto the dsp at the bottom right.

Another quick and simple card, I hope that you like it. Why don't you give it a try.
