Simple Christmas Stamping - Share it on a Sunday

 Hi Everyone,

Today's theme is 'Simple Christmas Stamping' and I have to say, it's been the hardest one I have done for a long time. I tried several different things and didn't like any one them but that has been a bit of a theme with me lately, I have thrown away more than I have kept in the past few weeks.  Even though this is supposed to be 'simple' I couldn't stop myself adding a bit of sparkle with some sequins and Wink of Stella.

Materials

1 piece of real red card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
1 piece of Plaid Tidings dsp 4" x 5 3/4"
1 piece of whisper white 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" and 1 piece 3 1/2" x 5"
Perfectly Plaid stamp set
Poinsettia Petals stamp set
Gift Wrapped stamp set
Shaded spruce ink
Real red ink
Seaside spray ink
Snowflake Adhesive Backed embellishments
Wink of Stella
Multipurpose adhesive
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder

Instructions

Score the real red card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Adhere the dsp to the card front leaving a small border all around the edges.

I have stamped the pine tree image at full strength and then 2nd and 3rd generation stamping to try and give some perspective as though they are further away.

Then I stamped the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in real red at the top centre. I also stamped on the other piece of whisper white for the inside of the card and I have added a thin strip of the dsp that was left over down the left hand side of the inner piece (see picture).

I decided that the front was too plain so I added the sprinkle of stars from the Gift Wrapped stamp set in seaside spray to look like stars twinkling above the trees.

Adhere this piece to the card front and the other piece to the inside of the card base.

I still wasn't happy so out came the snowflake sequins and I dotted them about and went over the trees with Wink of Stella for a bit more sparkle.

I hope that you like my card, please pop over and see what Donna and Victoria have made this week too, click on t e links below.

  1. Sorry to hear you've had a rotten week crafting - it happens to us all. I just walk away for a couple of days and then try again. Your card is gorgeous. I'm the other way round - it has to be a clean and simple design lol. Have a good week and I promise I really will go over to YouTube and watch your video for Fun Fold Friday lol xx
