Share it on a Sunday - Very Versailles Matchbook Notebook

Hi Everyone,

It's Share it on a Sunday again and this week was my turn to suggest a theme.  I'm a bit of a stationery hoarder and love a notebook (who doesn't?) and I make a lot for craft fairs as they are good sellers.  I discovered an old Pootles tutorial from several years ago and this was a style that I hadn't made before, so thanks to Sam for the inspiration.  Check out the links below to see what Donna and Victoria made this week.

Materials

1 piece of card stock 3 1/2" x length of A4 (so you can make two from one sheet)
1 piece of whisper white 3 1/4" x 3 1/2" for stamping (you could use designer series paper)
1 piece of whisper white 1/2" x 3 1/4"
Very Versailles stamp set
Butterfly Gala stamp set
Ink to match card stock
Multipurpose adhesive
Small notebook 3 1/4" x 4" (I get mine from Wilko)
Tear and tape
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder

Instructions

On the long side, score the card stock at 4 1/2", 10" and 11 1/4"

Fold and burnish the first two score lines inwards and the last one back on itself, this forms the holder on the front to tuck the flap into.

Add tear tape to the underside of the small fold at the end and stick down to reinforce this bit where the flap goes behind (see picture). Add tear tape just above the fold line on the inside of the next score and seal the bottom of the booklet closed.

Add tear tape to the back of the notebook and adhere to the inside of the folder so that the bottom of it is just above the flip front, don't put it near the top as the holder won't fold shut.

Stamp your design on the larger piece of whisper white in matching ink and adhere to the front cover, don't line it up with the top as the design will bend when closed, line it up towards the bottom and make sure the sides have an equal border right and left.

Add a sentiment to the tiny strip of whisper white and adhere to the sealed part at the bottom of the holder.  Add a couple of gems or enamel dots etc if desired (I had smudged a bit of ink so used gems to cover that up).

As you can see, I've made several in different colours, I hope you like them and will give it a try.
