Winners Hop - Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights Gallery

 Hi Everyone,

At the beginning of March I entered a project into Kylie's Monthly Gallery and was lucky enough to be voted in the Top Ten and I am so grateful to all of you who voted for me.  As one of the Top Ten, I now get to take part in a Winner's Hop, so this is my 'Thank You' to all of you.

Materials

1 piece of thick basic white 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
1 piece of misty moonlight 3 1/8" x 4 1/8"
1 piece of Butterfly Bijou dsp 3" x 4" and 3 butterflies fussy cut from the papers
Vine Design stamp set
Misty Moonlight ink
Dimensionals
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder
Paper snips
Multipurpose adhesive

Instructions

This is a very quick and simple card and could be made in batches as invitations, thank you cards, anything you like really, just change the sentiment to suit.

On the long side, score the basic white at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make a card base.

Add the dsp layer to the misty moonlight mat leaving equal borders all around the edges and add to the card front on dimensionals.

Fussy cut some of the butterflies from the dsp or you could stamp your own if you have the stamp set.  Adhere two to the panel on the card front and one on the inside of the card.

Stamp the sentiment in the bottom right hand corner of the card front and you are done.  See I told you it was quick and simple, why don't you give it a try.

Please follow the links and see what all the other winners have made.

Hydrangea Hill Birthday Card

 Hi Everyone,

Today I have made a pretty, square birthday card using the Hydrangea Hill designer series papers for a very good friend, I hope that she will like it.  Let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of seaside spray card stock 5 3/4" x 11 1/2" and a 1/2" scrap for the sentiment
1 piece of dsp 5 1/2" square, scraps for the flowers and other square die cut
1 piece of basic white card stock 5 1/2" square and 1 piece 2 5/8" square
Scraps of silver foil for the leaves
Layering square dies
Forever Flourishing dies
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Small Bloom punch
Art Gallery stamp set
Misty Moonlight ink
Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
Pastel Pearls
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

On the long side, score the seaside spray card at 5 3/4" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Add the large dsp layer to the card front.

Die cut a 2 5/8" (approx) square from basic white and a 1 5/8" (approx) from the dsp and a large leaf flourish from silver foil - I'm going to cut this up to make smaller sprigs.

Add the larger square to the centre of the card front using dimensionals. Then overlap the dsp square at the bottom right of the large square, add a dab of glue to the piece lying on top of the other square and add dimensionals to the rest to keep it on a level.

Punch out four flowers from dsp with the small bloom punch and shape them in the palm of your hand to give them some dimension.

Punch a 1/2" label using the Pick a Punch and stamp the sentiment towards the shaped end.  Add this to the white square about 1/8" from the bottom of it (see picture).

Add the four flowers over the end of the label to hide it and then cut up the large leaf sprig and tuck the pieces in around the flowers using some glue.

Add a pearl to the centre of each flower and to the top left of the white square.

Add the remaining white square to the inside of the card, add a sentiment and decorate with a thin strip of dsp if you like.

I hope that you like my card and will give it a try.

Box of Nature Inspired Thank You Cards - Share it on a Sunday - Nature Theme

 Hi Everyone,

The theme this week is 'Nature' and I was left scratching my head a bit, what shall I make? I have lots of designer series papers that I am trying to use up before the new catalogue launches and I have pretty new ones to buy, I have loads of bits of die cuts lying about - I always cut too many - could I use all these bits up? Of course I could, so I have made a set of 4 cute cards in a box and used flowers, leaves and my favourites - butterflies - and all out of bits and pieces. I have also made a video tutorial, click on the link below.

https://youtu.be/uc0UHQCz-eQ

Materials

1 piece of old olive card stock 6 1/4" square and 1 piece 6 5/16" square (for the lid)
4 pre bought 4" card bases or 4 pieces of thick basic white card stock 4" x 8"
1 piece of Forever Greenery dsp 4 1/8" square and 4 pieces 2" x 3 7/8"
Scraps of Brights DSP stack
Scraps of silver foil and green card stock (different shades) for the leaves
Forever Flourishing dies
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Small Bloom punch
1/2" circle punch
Butterfly Duet punch
Matt Black Dots
Multipurpose adhesive
Art gallery stamp set
Old Olive ink
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder

Instructions

To make the box - score both pieces of old olive card at 1" on all four sides.  There will be a square at each corner, cut up the score line and notch into the square to make the tabs on all four corners.

Add adhesive to the tabs and fold under so that the score line meets the cut edge (see video if you are unsure about this). Do this on all four corners on both pieces.  The lid should fit nicely on top of the base.  Punch out a half circle on either side of the lid with the circle punch for a finger hold to make it easier to remove the lid.

If you are making your own cards, score the white card on the long side at 4" and fold and burnish to make the four card bases.

Add the dsp layer to the bottom of the card front leaving a tiny border all around the edges.

Punch out three flowers with the small bloom punch and shape them in your hand by pressing them into the palm of your hand with a pencil or a pen.  Arrange the three flowers at the bottom left of the card front on top of the dsp.  Tuck in bits of leaves all around them to make an arrangement - I have cut up large leaf sprays into smaller sections - and adhere in place.

Stamp a sentiment on the top left corner of the card - do this first if you are worried about getting it straight - if you mess it up, you can always stamp it again on a label and stick that over the top.

Punch out the small butterflies with the butterfly duet punch using up some more scraps of the Brights dsp stack and add 2-3 on the top of the card in the white space.

Add matt black dots to the centre of all the flowers.

To decorate the box use the larger piece of dsp and stamp the sentiment in the bottom right corner.  Make a similar arrangement of flowers, leaves and butterflies on this and then adhere to the top of the box.

This makes a lovely gift for someone or a great item for your craft fairs, give it a try and use up some of your dsp.

Don't forget to pop over and see what Donna and Victoria have made this week too.

Masculine Gatefold Buckle Card - Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am hopping with the Ink Stamp Share Group, you have arrived here from Mo's page, so welcome. The theme for today's hop is 'Men/Boys' which I always find quite hard to do. I have designed a fun fold card (well I think I have designed it, I haven't seen another one like it anywhere!). It's a square tent fold with a smaller gatefold on the front which has a buckle fastening.  This fold could be adapted for any occasion by changing up the designer series paper and the sentiments but I have used the monochrome patterns on the True Love dsp and the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set. Let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of thick basic white card stock 5 3/4" x 11 1/2", 1 piece 3 7/8" square
1 piece of basic black card stock 4" x 8"
1 piece of real red card stock 2" x 3"
1 piece of True Love dsp 5 5/8" square
2 pieces of a co-ordinating pattern 1 7/8" x 3 7/8"
Happiest of Birthdays stamp set
Memento Black ink
Real Red ink
Classic Label punch
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone folder
Multipurpose adhesive

Instructions

On the long side, score the thick basic white at 5 3/4" and fold and burnish to make a tent fold card.

On the long side, score the basic black at 2" and 6" and fold and burnish to make the gatefold card.

Adhere the square piece of dsp to the card front leaving a small border around the edges.

Add the strips of dsp to the gates on the smaller card making sure that the top and bottom edges line up when its closed.

Line up the Classic Label punch so that it is in the centre of the left hand gate and punch out.

Stamp a sentiment on the square piece of basic white card using real red ink and add on the inside of the gatefold card. Stamp another sentiment or decorate the inside of the larger card.

Stamp a sentiment in black in the centre of the strip of real red card.  Feed one end in through the front of the punched section and line up so that it is central across the gates when closed.  Add a little bit of adhesive to the opposite end of this strip and adhere to the right hand gate (see picture).

Adhere the smaller card to the centre of the larger card front.
