Fine Art Floral Curvy Gift Bag - Share it on a Sunday

 Hi Everyone,

This week Donna, Victoria and I are making gift bags. I have combined the Curvy Dies with the lovely new Fine Art Floral Suite which I think is my favourite from the new catalogue.  Let me show you how to make it.

Materials

1 piece of dsp 10 1/2" x 5 1/2"
1 piece of coastal cabana card stock 3 1/2" square
Scrap of whisper white for the sentiment
Scrap of 1/4" shimmer ribbon (enough to tie a bow)
Coastal cabana ink
Bermuda Bay ink
Art Gallery stamp set
Floral Gallery dies
Curvy dies
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine
Multipurpose adhesive
Tear and tape
Dimensionals
Mini glue dots
2 small Velcro dots (available online or from craft shops)
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Bone folder
Paper snips

Instructions

On the long side score the dsp at 1 1/2", 5", 6 1/2" and 10", then turn 90 degrees and score at 1 1/2" (this will be the base so make sure that your pattern is going the right way).

Fold and burnish the score lines, cut up the vertical score lines to the first horizontal score line to make the tabs.  Remove the skinny rectangle on the end and then notch the square tabs at each side and at the top and bottom of the skinny section at the side which will form the side tab of the bag.

Add tear and tape to the outside of the long skinny tab and fold the other side of the bag over to seal it.  Then fold the two bottom side tabs in, then the back and add adhesive to the front flap and fold that over to seal the bottom shut.

Push the sides in at the top and pinch together, this will make the side shape nicely so that you can add the fold over flap for the opening.

With the coastal cabana card, score on one side at 1" and then arrange the curved die along the opposite edge (see finished bag) and run through the die cutting machine to shape it.

Stamp  the small flower in coastal cabana on the lower end of the curve (as shown in the finished picture) and then stamp the smaller accent stamp over the top in bermuda bay.

Fold and burnish the score line and then add adhesive to the inside of the smaller section and  fix this to the back of the bag so that the curved edge folds over to the front.

Fix a velcro dot to the underside of the curved fold over section at each side of the bag and press them shut.  You need one at either side because of the curve.  When I first made it I just put one in the centre but the lower curved edge wouldn't lie down.

Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of whisper white and die cut with the longer of the two label dies in the Floral Gallery set and fix to the front of the bag with dimensionals.  Add a small bow and the bag is finished.

I hope that you like it and will give it a try.
