Forever Fern Shadow Box Picture

Hi Everyone,

I made this project for a Blog Hop Challenge that I am taking part in and the theme is products from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue which has just launched.  I decided to make a 3D project and because I love the Forever Greenery Suite so much, I thought I'd make a picture using some of the products.

At the bottom of this blog there will be links to the projects made by the other members of the team who are participating, please pop over and support them too.

Materials

1 piece of dsp 5 5/8" square (I'm using Forever Greenery)
1 piece of mint macaron card stock 5 5/8" square (this is just to strengthen the dsp so can be any colour as you won't see it).
Scraps of whisper white, pear pizzazz, shaded spruce and silver foil card stock
Strip of shaded spruce card stock approx 5" x 1"
Strip of whisper white approx 3/4" x 4 1/2"
Pear pizzazz ink
Shaded spruce ink
Old olive ink
Forever Fern stamp set
Forever Flourishing dies
Lovely Label Pick a Punch
2020-2022 In colour ribbon in Just jade (for the bow)
2020-2022 In colour enamel dots
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Shadow Box Frame (from my stash)

Instructions

Adhere the dsp layer to the piece of card you are using to strengthen your picture.  Use a subtle background so that the leaves will show up well.

Stamp a variety of leaves in all of the colours and die cut them as well as some in silver foil.

Punch out the whisper white and shaded spruce strips with the Pick a Punch and then stamp the sentiment using shaded spruce ink in the centre.  Adhere the whisper white layer to the shaded spruce layer using adhesive and then arrange in the centre of the design using dimensionals.

Now, build up your designs around the sentiment layer, tucking leaves in front and behind each other and under the sentiment strip until you are happy with it.  Some I have glued down and some are on dimensionals to give some dimension and variety.  There is no right or wrong, it's whatever looks good to you, it's your picture.

Add a couple of the enamel dots to the sentiment layer and add a little bow too. Put the picture inside the box frame and you're done.  I hope that you like it and will give it a try.

All the products used in this project can be purchased from my online shop, click the link in the right hand side bar of this blog post.

Happy crafting,
