Field of Flowers Colour Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Today I have made a card for a colour challenge from one of my crafty friends. We challenge each other often to keep our crafty mojo going and to stretch us out of our comfort zones.  This colour challenge was Gorgeous Grape, Garden Green and Flirty Flamingo and I decided to team it with the lovely Field of Flowers stamp set and punch. Let me show you how I made it.

Materials

1 piece of gorgeous grape card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scraps to punch out the tiny flowers
1 piece of whisper white 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" for the inside
1 piece of whisper white 5 1/2" x 3 3/8"
Field of Flowers stamp set
Confetti Flowers Border Punch
Gorgeous grape ink
Garden green ink
Flirty Flamingo ink
Multipurpose adhesive
Trimmer

Instructions

Score the card base at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish.

Stamp the grass layer using garden green centrally towards the bottom of the smaller whisper white layer.  Add the flowers using flirty flamingo across the top of the grass.  Then stamp the sentiment in gorgeous grape at the top and add a few green dragonflies fluttering about.

On the inside layer, stamp some small flowers along the right hand edge as well as a couple of dragonflies and then adhere to the inside of the card.

Using the confetti border punch, punch out some flowers using the scrap of gorgeous grape and then adhere them in between the other flowers.

Adhere this layer centrally to the card front and the job is done, quick and simple card.

Calypso Coral ink
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

Score the calypso coral card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.

Stamp a sentiment on the whisper white layer using calypso coral ink and then adhere to the inside of the card.

Adhere the larger piece of dsp to the centre of the card front leaving a small border all the way around.

Add the grey floral dsp to the pool party layer and adhere to the card front.

Stamp a small peony image in the centre of the 2" circle of whisper white using pool party ink and then add the sentiment over the top using basic grey.  Adhere this layer to the pool party circle and add to the card front using dimensionals.

Instructions

The picture above is the Sketch Challenge that we are following.

Fold the real red card stock in half and burnish well to make the card base.

Adhere the largest piece of dsp to the card front and the whisper white layer to the inside of the card and decorate with the 1/2" strip of dsp.

Using the strip of real red, lay it diagonally across the card front and with a pencil mark where to cut so that the strip will lie as in the picture and adhere in place.

Add the dsp layers to the mat layers using either glue or the Stamp and Seal and arrange on the card front as per the sketch.

Punch out the circles and add the sentiment to the whisper white one with the memento black ink, add to the card front with dimensionals.

Fussy cut one of the animals and add to the card front.

A cute birthday card using the lovely Playful Pets and a Sketch Challenge, I hope that you like it.
