Forever Blossoms Note Card Holder

Hi Everyone,

In this very unsettling time, it's nice to receive a card from someone to show that they are thinking about you even though you can't meet up.  So, I decided I wanted to make some note cards to post myself to relatives and friends but also to make into packs to gift to others for them to use too.  We all have plenty of time on our hands at the moment and crafting is therapy (for me anyway).  I hope that you are all doing ok and lets hope we can soon see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I found this design on YouTube, it's a Crafty Caroline Creates one but I have changed the dimensions slightly to fit what I needed.

Materials

1 piece of bermuda bay card stock 8 1/4" x 9 1/2" and 1 piece 8 1/4" x 11"
2 pieces of silver foil 4 1/2" x 5 1/4"
2 pieces of whisper white card stock 4 1/4" x 5"
Bermuda bay ink
Forever Blossoms stamp set
Trimmer
Simply Scored
Multipurpose adhesive
1/4" hole punch
Detailed trio punch
18" ribbon
4   6" x 4" cards and envelopes
Paper snips
Bone folder

Instructions

Put the smaller piece of card stock on the scoreboard with the 8 1/4" side to the top and score at 7" (this piece will form the outside of the holder).

Put the larger piece in the scoreboard on the 11" side and score at 4 3/4", 5 1/4", 10" and 10 1/2", turn onto the short side and score at 1/2" and 7 3/4" (this piece will form the pockets on the inside).

Put the smaller piece in the trimmer on the 9 1/2" side and cut in half at 4 3/4".

Put the larger piece in the trimmer on the 8 1/4" side and cut in half at 4 1/8".

Fold and burnish all the score lines on all four pieces.

On the pieces with only one score line, these two pieces will be joined together to make one long piece for the outside of the holder.  Adhere them together by adding adhesive to one of the tabs and laying the other one over the top taking care that the sides are level.

Cut up the scorelines along the bottom of the other two pieces to make tabs as though you are making a box and remove the end square at the bottom.  Add glue to the long side tab and fold over the other side to meet it and make the box shape.  Then fold in the flaps at the bottom and add adhesive to close, stand the box on the end and put your bone folder inside and run it back and forth to make sure the glue is spread around and covers the whole thing, so it will stay shut.  Repeat with the other one.

Add glue to the back of the box and adhere in place on the side panel (see picture) taking care that the bottom of the box sits on the middle where the two outer pieces are joined and is level along the sides. You should be able to see what I mean from the picture. Repeat on the other side with the other box.  When you close up the folder, the base of the two boxes should sit nicely on the joined section of the outer piece.

Stamp the image and the sentiment on to the two pieces of whisper white and add them to the silver foil mats, then adhere them to either side of the holder.

Corner round the top corners of the holder and then holding the two sides together and matching the edges, punch two holes at the top to thread the ribbon through.

I've used pre scored card bases and envelopes that I had in my stash but if you don't have them, you just need to cut a piece of A4 cardstock in half at 4 1/8" and then score at 5 7/8" to make a card base.

Stamp your image and sentiment to the front of the card and I've also stamped a flower on the flap of the envelope as well as the bottom left hand corner on the front.

You can fit 4 cards and envelopes inside the holder easily.  Thread the ribbon through the holes at the top and tie in a bow.

There you have a pretty gift for someone or a great craft fair make. I hope you like this and will give it a try.  Stay well and stay safe everyone, take care.
