Peaceful Poppies 3 colour challenge card

Hi Everyone,

Today I have made a card for a challenge over on one of the Facebook Groups that I belong to, the colours were:

Basic Gray, Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green

This is what I came up with.  Why don't you give it a try too, you can use the colours in any medium you like, ink, card stock, dsp, add embellishments or ribbons in the colours, let your imagination go and see what you can come up with.

Materials

1 piece of basic gray card stock 4 1/4" x 11 3/4"
1 piece of melon mambo card stock 4" x 5 5/8"
2 pieces of whisper white card stock 3 7/8" x 5 3/8"
Scraps of whisper white and granny apple green for the sentiment layers
Scraps of melon mambo ribbon
Melon mambo ink
Painted poppies stamp set
Sending You Thoughts stamp set
Stitched So Sweetly dies
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Mini glue dots

Instructions

Fold the basic gray card stock in half and burnish to make the card base.

Add the melon mambo mat to the card front.

Stamp a long, tall poppy on the piece of whisper white for the inside and also a sentiment in melon mambo ink.  Stamp the poppy on the front of the envelope too.

Stamp the field of poppies across the bottom of the whisper white layer in melon mambo ink. Then stamp the sentiment on a scrap of whisper white and die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Die cut a layer for the sentiment using a scrap of granny apple green card.

Wrap a piece of melon mambo ribbon around the whisper white layer and adhere to the front of the card.  Add the sentiment layer over the top of the ribbon using dimensionals to keep the ribbon in place.  make a small bow with some of the ribbon and attach to the side of the sentiment mat with a mini glue dot.

  1. Sorry, But the granny apple green sentiment layer is too garish for my taste. Since this design was to meet a color challenge, including granny apple green in another way would be preferable in my opinion.

    1. What I think might be preferable is that if you don't like a project, just move on.

  3. This is fabulous, the colours work really well together... not always to everyone's taste, each to their own and all that, but that's what makes the crafting world such a joy to be part of, different styles. Great execution of style and design. 10 out of 10 for me xx
