Today I have been making bookmarks to hand out at my Craft Fairs with my contact details for people who buy from me. I decided to hand stamp them to show off some of the stamp sets and the colours that Stampin' Up! has to offer, I've also done some colouring too, I've laminated mine to make them store easier between fairs. This one is using very subtle colours and I plan to do more in brighter colours and with different stamp sets. Hand stamping your own backgrounds is really good fun and there is no right or wrong about it and each design that you do is totally unique to you. Even if several of you all use the same stamps and colours, I guarantee no two, will be the same. Give it a try, it's fun.
Materials
1 A4 sheet of whisper white card stock for stamping
Beauty Abounds stamp set
Grey granite ink
Purple posy ink (you could use blends)
Soft sea foam ink
Rococco rose ink
Seaside spray ink
Blender pens
Trimmer
Laminator pounches (optional)
Laminator (optional)
Ribbon
Instructions
I handstamped the swirly floral image first in grey granite and then the bubbles in soft sea foam and purple posy. Then I stamped the butterflies in rococco rose, seaside spray and purple posy.
I decided that it was a bit too subtle so I then coloured the flowers and leaves on the flourish with all of the coloured inks and a blender pen and stamped the sentiment in grey granite.
I then cut the A4 into strips of approximately 1 3/4" and put them through the laminator to give them a protected surface. You can use your trimmer to trim the excess laminating pouch from around the edges. I laid several of the strips inside one laminator pouch with a space in between them to cut and separate them. (I also added my contact details to the reverse before I laminated.)
Once you have separated them, punch a hole at the top (if required) and add a piece of ribbon.
