Butterfly Gala colour challenge card

Hi Everyone,

Today I want to show you how I made this pretty butterfly card for a colour challenge on a Facebook Group.  The colours were: Rococco Rose, Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry and I chose the lovely Butterfly Gala stamp set and punch to make this card.

Materials

1 piece of rococco rose card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
2 pieces of whisper white 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
Butterfly gala stamp set
Beauty abounds stamp set
Thoughtful blooms stamp set
Butterfly duet punch
Crumb cake ink
Rococco rose ink
Crushed curry ink
Old Olive ink
Rococco rose linen ribbon
Scraps of rococco rose and whisper white card
Stitched so sweetly dies
Die cutting machine
Trimmer
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

Fold the card stock in half at 4 1/8" and burnish to make the card base.

Randomly stamp a design on one of the whisper white pieces, make sure some of the stamping goes off the page and remember to turn your stamp to change the direction.  I have stamped the double butterflies from the Butterfly gala in 3 of the 4 colours.  Then I have filled in the spaces with the little butterfly from Beauty Abounds and then used the tiny flower from Thoughtful Blooms as a filler in old olive ink.

When you are happy with the design add the ribbon around this piece and secure on the back with tape, then adhere the layer to the card front.

Stamp an additional duo of butterflies and punch them out and then stamp the sentiment on a scrap of whisper white.  Die cut the sentiment and a larger rectangle in rococco rose as a mat, glue the two together and add dimensionals so the sentiment straddles the ribbon and keeps it in place on the front.  Bend the wings onthe butterflies you have stamped out and adhere them to the font of the card on top of other butterflies that are the same colour to give a 3D effect.

Add a sentiment and any decoration to the whisper white layer for the inside and adhere in place.

If you have never done a colour challenge, give it a try, its fun and a great way to get your crafty mojo moving if you are in a bit of a lull.
