3D Timeless Tulip Colour Challenge Card

Hi Everyone,

Today I have made a card for a colour challenge in one of the Facebook groups that I belong to, the colours were: Blueberry Bushell, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake - not three that I would ordinarily put together but I thought I would give it a try and this is what I cam up with.

Materials

1 piece of crumb cake card stock 8 1/4" x 5 7/8"
1 piece of whisper white for the inside 3 7/8" x 5 1/2"
1 piece of blushing bride card stock 4" x 5 3/4"
Scraps of whisper white for the two rectangles and the flowers
Blue berry bushel ink
Blushing Bride ink
Crumb Cake ink
Tulip Builder Punch
Simply Scored score board
Timeless Tulips stamp set
Stitched so Sweetly dies
Die Cutting machine
Linen thread
Mini glue dots
Multipurpose adhesive

Instructions

Score the crumb cake card stock at 4 1/4" and fold and burnish to make a card base.

Stamp the smallest tulip along the long edges of the whisper white card for decoration for the inside of the card and random stamp the same flower all over the blushing bride piece of the matting layer on the front. Adhere both pieces to the card base.

On the scrap of whisper white stamp three of the largest tulip in each of the three colours so you have 9 in total and then punch them out with the tulip builder punch.

Flip the flowers over to the wrong side and score each one down the centre from top to bottom and then fold in half.  To make the 3D flower - add glue to one half of the folded flower and adhere it to the next flower and then adhere the second half of the middle flower to the third until you have a full flower.  The two back edges will fold flat so you can adhere it to the card front and the rest will pop up but it will fold flat for the mail.  Make all three flowers and then put aside.

Die cut two scalloped rectangles from the Stitched So Sweetly dies (I have used the largest and the smallest. Stamp three flower stems on the largest one in crumb cake ink, close together and slightly angled to make a bunch of tulips (see picture).  Stamp a sentiment on the smallest one in blueberry bushell ink.

Adhere the large rectangle to the card front, in the centre but towards the top and add the smaller one underneath at the bottom.  Adhere the three flower heads on the front on the flower stems and then add a linen bow to the bottom of the bunch to tie them together.

There you are, a pretty bunch of 3D flowers, I wouldn't normally choose those colours but a challenge is a challenge ha ha. I hope you will give it a try.

Happy crafting,

Karen XX
