Thoughtful Blooms Triangular Treat Box

Hi Everyone,

Today I was having a look on YouTube, searching for something to make and I found this project by Crafty Caroline which I have changed slightly to suit the materials I wanted to use. I hope that you like it.

Click on the link below to watch the video tutorial

Materials

1 piece of whisper white card stock 6” x 6 1/2”
1 piece of purple posy card stock 4” x 6 5/8”
Gorgeous grape ink
Purple posy ink
Daffodil delight ink
Thoughtful blooms stamp set
Varied vases stamp set
1 3/8” scalloped punch
Scrap of scalloped linen ribbon for the lid
Scrap of whisper white for the sentiment
Simply scored
Red line tape
Tear and tape
Mini dimensionals
Multipurpose adhesive

Instructions

Score the whisper white on the short side at 1 1/2”

Stamp your design above the score line on this piece of card stock.

Then score on the long side at 2”, 4” and 6”, fold and burnish all the score lines.

Cut up the vertical score lines to the horizontal score line and remove the skinny rectangle at the end and notch the bottom end of the long tab above it. You will have three flaps along the bottom edge now, find the middle point of each one and make a mark. Then cut from the centre mark out to the edge that meets the bottom of the box on each one, this will form three triangles along the base.

Put tear and tape along the outside of the long tab and bring both of the side edges together, carefully matching the top and the score line at the bottom and stick them together to form the box.

Fold in the triangular pieces on the base, one on top of the other until the bottom is sealed, glue between each layer.

On the piece of purple posy, score on the long side at 2” 4 1/8” and 6 1/4”, and then on the short side at 1 1/2” and 3 1/2” and fold and burnish all the score lines.

Cut up from both sides along the long edges to the first score line making flaps along the top and the bottom. Remove the skinny rectangles at the edge. On the larger flaps, find the mid point as on the box and make the triangles along this edge. On the other edge, just take a small wedge from either side of each flap.

Add tear and tape to the bottom flaps on the inside and fold them up to make a nice neat edge along the bottom.

Lay the lid flat and measure a piece of ribbon to fit right across the centre from side to side. Add red line tape to the back of the ribbon, remove the backing tape and fix in place along the centre of the lid.

Add tear and tape to the tab at the end on the outside and then bring both sides together as on the box to close it.  Fold the triangles one over the other as before, adding adhesive between the layers to close up the lid.

Stamp a sentiment on the scrap of whisper white and punch out with the scalloped punch.  Add dimensionals to the back and fix to the front of the box.  Fill with treats and add the lid to the base.

I hope you like this project and will give it a try.
