Fun Fold Friday - #1 - Simple Gate Fold Card With Gingham and Butterflies

Hi Everyone,

Today I am beginning a series of fun fold cards to show you how simple they can be and to work through as many of them as I can think of with you.

This is #1 of  Fun Fold Friday, I hope that you will enjoy the series and come back on a regular basis to see what I am making. Click on the link below to watch the video tutorial.

#1 Simple Gate Fold

Materials

1 sheet of A4 card stock (I've used melon mambo), cut on the short side at 6" to make a card which is 6" x 11 3/4". I wanted to make a square card but didn't have any 12 x 12 card stock so this is not quite square but almost.
2 pieces of silver foil 2 5/8" x 5 3/4"
2 pieces of designer series paper 2 1/4" x 5 1/2" (I've used the Brights 6 x 6 paper stack)
1 piece of whisper white card stock 5 5/8" square for the inside
Scraps of card stock for the sentiment and the butterfly
Stitched So Sweetly dies
Die cutting machine
Trimmer
Beauty Abounds stamp set
Butterfly Gala stamp set
Butterfly Duet Punch
Melon mambo ink
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

Score the card base piece 2 7/8" from each side and then fold and burnish, the two sides should meet in the centre of the card.

Stamp a sentiment and some of the butterflies on the piece of whisper white and then adhere it to the inside of the card.

Adhere the foil mats to either side of the gate and then lay the dsp on top of that as centrally as possible.

Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of whisper white and cut out with the die cutting machine.  At the same time, die cut the larger mat from the scrap of melon mambo and then glue then together.

Choose the butterfly pair from the stamp set and stamp with the melon mambo ink and then punch out with the butterfly duet punch.  Adhere the smaller butterfly to the centre of the larger one and bend the wings up on both to make it look like it is flying.  Adhere the butterfly to the bottom of the right hand gate.

Add the sentiment to the right hand gate of the card just a bit higher than the centre using dimensionals but remember to only put them on half of the sentiment layer.

There you are, your first Fun Fold Card, I hope that you enjoyed it.  Please come back next week for #2 - The Z Fold.
