Best Dressed Hexagon Treat Bag

Hi Everyone,

Today I have made a cute hexagon treat bag for a Mother's Day treat.  These are quick and easy to make and can be used for any occasion, great for craft fairs, teacher gifts or just as little extras for someone special.

Materials

1 piece of card stock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (I've used highland heather)
2 pieces of dsp 3 3/8" x 1 7/8" (I've used Best Dressed dsp)
Scraps of whisper white for the sentiment
Scrap of silver foil
Small piece of ribbon for the tie (I've used daffodil delight ruched ribbon)
Dressed to Impress stamp set
Painted labels dies
2" circle punch
Highland heather ink
Daffodil Delight ink
Bone folder
Scoreboard
Trimmer
Ruler
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals

Instructions

On the long side score the card stock at 2", 4", 6", 8" and then turn on to the short side and score at 2", fold and burnish all the straight lines.

Put the card stock flat on the table and with a ruler score diagonal lines across the 2nd and 4th large rectangles at the top section of the card stock in both directions to form a cross. Then score a line from the centre of the cross to the top of the card stock (these are all fold lines).

Remove the bottom skinny rectangle and wedge the upper skinny rectangle - this will form the tab to close the box.

Cut up the other score lines to the middle on the lower section of the card stock, these will form the bottom flaps of the box.

At this point add the dsp to the upper rectangles that have not been scored.

Fold in the two side flaps and the back one too and then adhere the front flap closed to seal the base of the box.

Push in on the two sides of the box at the top and it should fold together so that the side sections pop out into the hexagon shape (see the picture).

If you are closing the bag with ribbon, punch out in the centre at the top with the 1/8" hole punch and thread the ribbon through and tie in a bow.  If not, it can be secured with a library clip.

Stamp the sentiment on the scrap of whisper white and add a couple of flowers, above and below the sentiment and then punch out with the circle punch.

Die cut the swirl from the painted Labels dies in the silver foil.  Add the sentiment to the centre of the swirl and adhere to the front of the bag with dimensionals.

There you go, a quick and simple gift bag, hope you will give it a try.  There is a video tutorial of another one of these that I made on my YouTube channel which has different papers and decoration, click the link below to see that one:
