Dinoroar Double Z Fold Card

Hi,

Today I am bringing you a cute double z fold children's card using the brilliant Dinoroar designer series paper.

There is also a video to show you how I made this card over on my YouTube channel at:

Materials

1 x 11" x 4 1/4" piece of pineapple punch card stock
1 x 10" x 2 3/4" piece of pineapple punch card stock
1 x 5 1/4" x 4" piece of whisper white card stock
Scrap of pineapple punch card stock for the sentiment
Scrap of whisper white card stock for the sentiment
1 x 5 1/4" x 4", 2 x 2 1/2" x 4" designer series paper
1 x 4 1/2" x 2 1/2", 1 x 2 1/2" x 2 1/2", 1 x 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" contrasting designer series paper
2" circle punch
Starburst punch
Pretty peacock ink
In colour faceted dots
Multipurpose adhesive
Dimensionals
Stamp set containing a Happy Birthday stamp

Instructions

Put the largest piece of card stock onto the score board with the long edge against the top and score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".  Then put the smaller piece on the score board with the longest edge against the top and score at 4 3/4" and 7 1/2". Fold and burnish all the score lines to make a z shape.

Take the pieces of dsp that are for the larger piece and adhere them in place leaving a small border all around the edge.  Then adhere the pieces of dsp  to the smaller piece of card stock in the same way.

You will now have two z shapes, one with the larger piece to the back with the two smaller folds on the front and the other one will have the larger piece to the front with the folds to the back (have a look at the picture above).

Adhere the piece of whisper white to the back of the largest piece, this is where you can write your message, I have also stamped a sentiment on this piece.

Now, adhere the smaller z to the larger z - fold the larger one and place it on the table in front of you, then fold the smaller one and place on top to judge the right position for it, it should be central on the card.  Put adhesive on the back of the smallest fold on the top z and place it in position on the main card piece.  Then put adhesive on the back of the largest piece of the top z (make sure it is only on the half that will be stuck to the bottom z). When you have done this you should have one smaller z fold stuck centrally in the middle of the other z fold, check the picture above if you are unsure.

Then stamp Happy Birthday on a piece of whisper white in pretty peacock and punch out with a 2" circle punch.  Punch out a starburst shape with the punch and adhere the sentiment to the starburst and add to the front of the card with dimensionals.  Add a faceted dot to the sentiment and the card is finished.

Here is another version of the same card, using different colours and a different pattern in the Dinoroar pack of papers.

I think these are really cute and children will love them, give them a try.

Happy crafting,

Karen XX
