Matching Hand-Penned Gift Bag and Thank You Card

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am taking part in Kylie Bertucci's International Gallery and have made a lovely matching gift bag and thank you card using the gorgeous Hand Penned bundle and the In Colours.  I'd be really grateful if you could pop over to the Gallery and vote for my entry, if I get into the top ten, I get to take part in a Blog Hop with Kylie and the other winners at the end of the month.

Instructions

Gift Bag

On the long side, score the card stock at 1 3/4", 5 1/2", 7 1/4" and 11". Then make a mark at 7/8" and 6 3/8". Turn on the short side and score at 1 3/4".

In the panels where you have made a notch, join the notch to the two bottom corners of that panel with a diagonal score line to make a triangle within the panel.

Cut up the vertical score lines to the horizontal one and remove the skinny rectangle at the end and notch the bottom of the tab above it, this is the tab to join the bag together. Fold and burnish all the score lines, including the diagonal ones.

Turn the card over and add tear and tape to the edge of the end panel which has the diagonal score lines and then fold this over to meet the tab and secure bag together at the sides.  Turn the bag upside down and bring in the two side tabs, fold the back tab in and then add tear and tape to the underside of the front tab and secure the bottom of the bag.

Stand it the right way up and pinch the sides together and the bag inner is complete.

Lay the dsp against the front of the bag with a 1" overlap which will fold under the bottom of the bag, pinch this fold together gently (don't burnish with the bone folder, do it with your fingers so as not to rip the dsp). Lay the dsp against the bag again with the fold underneath and now fold over the top of the bag and pinch again and fold.  Then pinch and fold at the other side at the bottom so that the pieces join to make the sleeve.  Add a strip of tear and tape to one of the bottom pieces and join together, make sure that the sleeve slides on and off the box easily.

Die cut the smallest rectangle in the white and stamp the sentiment in the centre. Stamp a flower on a scrap of white and then add the colour to the flowers and leaves, then fussy cut the image (I've cut out part of the larger image that I have used for the card). Add the sentiment to the right bottom of the bag with dimensionals and then add the floral image to the top left of it, securing to the bag with dimensionals. Add some jewels for added bling. Tie a ribbon and add to the top right of the bag with a mini glue dot.

Card

On the long side, score the card stock at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make a landscape card.

Add the dsp layer to the card front leaving a border all around.

Stamp the largest floral image on a piece of basic white and then using the coloured inks, fill in the flowers and leaves, if you want paler colours, stamp off once and then stamp. The filler stamps do not fit the outline exactly, it's meant to be a colour wash image.  Die cut the stamped image with the second largest die making sure the image is at the bottom left.  Stamp the sentiment at the top right and then add to the card front with dimensionals.  Add some bling and a small bow to finish off.

Stamp a floral image on the remaining piece of white card and adhere to the inside of the card, I have left this as an outline but you could fill it in to match the front if you want to.

There you are a lovely matching set to give to someone as a thank you or as a treat, just change the sentiment.
