Share it on a Sunday - One Sheet Wonder using Best Dressed dsp (UPDATED)

Hi Everyone,

Today's Share it  on a Sunday challenge was to create a One Sheet Wonder (6" x 6"), I have used a sheet of the Best Dressed dsp for mine.  I will put links below to Donna and Victoria's blogs so that you can see what they made.

A one sheet wonder is basically just, take a sheet of paper and cut it up into several pieces and make something with it.  The pieces can be as large or as small as you like.  There is lots of inspiration on Pinterest but it is easy to make one for yourself and I will show you how I came up with mine.

Instructions

Here is the template that I came up with for my design, I have written on the sizes for all the pieces and the matting layers for my design. (UPDATE - the long skinny one at the right should read dsp 1 1/2" x 5 3/4" and the mat will be 1 3/4" x 6")

I basically started with my blank piece of card and just starting adding lines until I was happy with the pieces that I had and the possibilities for designing simple cards.  I tried mine out with a sheet of retired dsp to make sure that it worked before cutting out my design in the Best Dressed dsp.

I had decided that I wanted to make 4 cards and I wanted to use up some of my stash of pre scored card bases (approximately 4" x 6").

Next I decided to pick out the Lovely Lipstick colour in the paper I had chosen for the matting layers and cut a piece of card stock to mat each piece and added a 1/4" to all sides to give me a border around.

I added all the dsp pieces to the mats and then decided how to arrange them on the cards and adhered them in place.

On two cards, I stamped directly on to the card front using the Lovely Lipstick ink.  For the other two, I stamped the sentiments on scraps of white card and then die cut them out with mats to highlight them.  You could just as easily use punches for this if you don't have dies.

I've added ribbon that I have coloured with Stampin Blends to make it match and pearls which I have also coloured to match.  The embellishment is up to you, there is no right and wrong, its whatever you like.

My aim with this tutorial was to get you to have a go at making your own One Sheet Wonder but you can copy mine by all means, its up to you.  The pictures below show the finished cards that I made, I'd love to see what you come up with.
