Pressed Petals Sketch Challenge Card

Hi Everyone,

Today's card is one that I made for a sketch challenge over on a Facebook Group that I belong to. I don't have a picture of the challenge but what I made is how it looked, I haven't changed anything. I used a pre-scored card base from my stash which is a 5 x 7 card so just adapted the sizes to fit.

Materials

1 5" x 7" card base (I've used pre-scored but if you make your own it's just 7" x 10", folded in the middle to get a 5" x 7")
1 piece of 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" merry merlot card stock
1 piece of dsp (Pressed Petals) 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" and 1 piece 3 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Scraps of whisper white and merry merlot for the sentiment layers
Merry merlot ink
Beauty abounds stamp set
Stitched circle dies
Stitched so sweetly dies
Die cutting machine
Linen thread
Dimensionals
Mini glue dots
Multipurpose adhesive

Instructions

Stamp a sentiment on the inside of the card.

Add the merry merlot mat to the front of the card and then add the dsp layer making sure there is an equal border all the way around.

Stamp the two sentiments for the front on the scraps of whisper white and cut the large one with the 2 1/2" circle die and the small one from the smallest scalloped rectangle (1 3/4 x 3/4).  Cut a larger circle from the merry merlot scrap (mine is 3") and add the sentiment to the centre of this.

At the same time, die cut a scalloped rectangle from the scalloped rectangle dies (mine is approx 3 x 2).

Add the rectangle to the front of the card with glue and then pop the circle sentiment up on dimensionals and add to the centre of the card so it overlaps the rectangle.  Pop the small sentiment up on dimensionals and add to the bottom right of the card, overhanging the side of the rectangle dsp.

Tie a bow with linen thread and add to the side of the circles with a glue dot.

A quick and easy card which looks great in lots of colours and different dsps, give it a try.
