Hi Everyone,
Some of my colleagues in the Pootles Stampin' Up Team have been taking over the group while Sam is away. Janice did a Mystery Stamping Challenge last week, I couldn't watch it live but I watched the replay. The idea of Mystery Stamping in that you have a main clue which gives you the items that you need to make the card but you can choose you own colours and dsp and stamp sets. You follow the clues and interpret the design in your own way, so although you all follow the same set of clues, you end up with lots of very different cards. It's great fun and a great way to boost your crafty mojo if you need it. Here is my interpretation of the clues:
Materials
Janice provided measurements in cms, I use inches so have changed them up a little to fit my normal sizes
1 piece of night of navy 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", 1 piece 2 1/4" x 4 5/8", 1 piece 1 3/4" x 3 5/8", 1 piece 3 1/4" x 7/8"
1 piece 4" x 5 5/8", 1 piece 2" x 4 3/8", 1 piece 1 1/2" x 3 3/8"
1 piece of basic white 3 7/8" x 5 5/8", 1 piece 3" x 5/8"
Night of navy ink
Charming Sentiments stamp set
Trimmer
Simply scored
Multipurpose adhesive
Paper snips
Dimensionals
Instructions
On the long side score the card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base.
Add the largest piece of dsp to the card front and then add the other dsp layers to their corresponding mats.
Add the largest mat at the left hand side of the card front and then add the smaller one to the right, add dimensionals to the right hand side of this and glue to the left so that it will sit flat on the card front.
Stamp a sentiment on the strip of basic white and then layer up on the navy and add to the card front with dimensionals as shown.
Stamp a sentiment on the remaining white card and add to the inside of the card. I also fussy cut a couple of shells and added those to the inside too.
This layout works with any dsp, and colour and any stamp set and can be blinged up for a special occasion or played down to suit the occasion. I think my version is quite masculine and I always struggle to make masculine cards. What would you make?
