Tidings of Christmas Hexagon Pinwheel Tower Card - Stampin Dreams Blog Hop

 Hi Everyone,

Today I am hopping with the Stampin' Dreams group and the theme is 'Christmas in July'.  I have made a hexagon pinwheel tower card using the Tidings of Christmas designer series paper and I was inspired by Mixed Up Crafts for the original shape of the card and I have tweaked the measurements to make a 6" x 6" card. This card will fold flat and fit in a 6 x 6 envelope.

Materials

1 piece of evening evergreen card stock 6" x 8 1/2", 5 pieces 2 1/2" x 6"
Scraps of evening evergreen, real red for the die cuts
4 pieces of basic white 2" square (you could use dies if you have them)
6 pieces of dsp 2 1/4" x 5 3/4", 6 pieces 1 1/4" x 5 3/4"
Floral Square dies
2021-2023 In Colour jewels
Hand-Penned Petals stamp set
Perfectly Plaid stamp set
Real Red ink
Evening Evergreen ink
Trimmer
Simply scored
Bone folder
Multipurpose adhesive
Stampin Cut and Emboss machine

Instructions

On the long side score the evening evergreen card at 1", 2", 3", 4", 5" and 6" and fold and burnish all the score lines.

Add adhesive to the end strip and roll up to make the hexagon shape so that the edge of the card meets the score line at 6" and fix in place. This makes the tube to fix everything else to.

Add adhesive along the next side of the hexagon and fix one of the 2 1/2" x 6" panels making sure that it's level top and bottom and butts up to the previous one, repeat this all around until they are all fixed in place.

Adhere all the dsp panels in place, I have used two different patterns for the larger panels and just one for the smaller ones.

Die cut 3 of the floral square dies in evening evergreen and then 3 of the flowers in real red. Adhere the red flowers over the green ones and fix the die cuts in place on three of the larger panels.

Stamp the sentiment on 3 of the white panels and add some berries (I've used the blossom sprigs from Hand-Penned Petals) and adhere in place underneath the die cut panels.

Add the remaining white square to one of the other panels to write a message.

Add a jewel to the centre of each of the flowers and the card is complete.  I decided not to use too much additional decoration as the designer series papers are quite busy patterns.

Check out what everyone else has made, you are sure to get lots of inspiration and it's never too early to start Christmas cards, do a few a month and then when December comes, there is no last minute panic.
