Woven Threads Clutch Bag Gift Bag

Hi Everyone,

Today I am bringing you a cute handbag style gift bag using the current in colours and the Woven Threads designer series paper.  I hope that you like it and will give it a try.

Materials

1 sheet of 12" x 12" card stock
1 piece of matching card stock 6" x 4 1/2"
2 pieces of designer series paper 4 3/4" x 5 3/4" and 1 piece 3 3/4" x 5 3/4"
Scraps of card stock for the sentiment layers
Stitched rectangle dies
Die cutting machine
A piece of ribbon approximately 12"
Red line tape
Multipurpose adhesive
In colour faceted gems
Flat back pearls
Matching ink
Stamp set with a sentiment of your choice
Mini dimensionals
Velcro dots

Instructions

Score the 12" piece of card at 3" and 9" and then turn 90 degrees and score at 5" and 7". Then score at 4 1/2" and 7 1/2" down to the first score line and at 6" down to about the 2" point, turn 180 degrees and repeat to match. Fold and burnish all of the full score lines.

There will be a large rectangle at each corner and these need to be removed (see picture) to release the tabs and the side pieces of the bag.

Add the designer series paper to the front and back section of the bag.

Add red line tape to the tabs and then fold these up to make the sides of the bag.

Round the bottom corner of the bag flap and the dsp and then adhere the dsp to the flap leaving a small border all around.  Add red line tape to the reverse of the ribbon and then adhere the ribbon to the flap, it should go all the way around front and back.  Add red line tape to the 1/2" tab at the top of the flap and adhere that to the back of the bag so that the flap folds over the top.

Die cut two rectangles, one in matching card stock, one in whisper white and then stamp your sentiment to the white layer and adhere it to the centre of the coloured layer. Add mini dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and arrange on the front of the bag so that it straddles the ribbon layer.  Add a velcro dot to the centre of the back of the flap and the matching piece to the centre of the front of the bag.

Decorate with faceted gems and add flat back pearls to the four corners of the bottom of the bag.

There you are, a quick and simple handbag gift bag, I hope that you will give it a try.

Happy crafting,

Karen XX
